This was one game I had purchased PS3 in anticipation of. Luckily I have other games to look forward to but still it will sting just a little.

Attacking people personally is against posting rules, especially in Gamer zone. Not sure how you got so many bubbles but you should tone it down a notch. Its only video games, don't let it hurt your feelings so much.
If your a comnpetitive runner you buy lighter shoes, if your a competitive skier you buy better skis and high performance wax. if your a swimmer you wax your chest and cyclists shave their legs. If your into winning you try to get every advantage out of your equipment. Online MP is competition if you don't like it their is single player and even MP bots in some games. I dont like cheating using mods etc but a readily available product is fine with me.

it isnt fud its reality. I have been a launch day console buyer of both xbox and xbox 360. It is still my favourite console by far but that doesnt mean i have to kiss its ass if its pissing me off. Stop being a biased fanboy and dont get our arse hurt over a piece of plastic.

that makes sense. if this is true and the update causes the system to heat up then this smells like a class action in the making. Sometimes I think the xbox hardware designers are the same people in charge of sony marketing.
rant/ How is it any different than a game demo or other system update. As far as I can see its just lipstick on the old blade system. I was underwhelmed last night, but I wasn't expecting much. The avatars are so f*n lame. Did get into a gears match in under 5 minutes though so that was good. /end rant

that is killer. The best part is there is no trash talking as everyone in the match is on the same team and it requires team work. after 39 rounds you get to know people, best MP experience I have ever had on live. Also this is the only mode worth waiting the ten minutes to get in since it lasts for over an hour. I laughed when the article description meantioned "beating off" COD4 and Halo3 since there is a lot of beating off going on waiting for matchmaking ;)

i am glad someone sympathizes with the hell I went through. 3 months no xbox over the xmas holiday last year. I had COD4 still in plastic when it died on me. Got a ps3 to tie me over. Drake took care of me though. Thanks Drake!
with comments like that? Gears is my favourite game franchise ever but GOTY? I think not. Too many other games have come out that are different enough from previous offerings or have stronger stories, etc. Graphics are a runner up maybe but overall? not a chance.
The next 2 years are going to be brutal on peoples finances. The current gen will remain for 3 years at least untill things turn around and people start spending again. This will only help Sony but for MS it wont be so great since there console already is getting tired. I will be frist in line for the next MS offering though, I love new tech and 360 has been good to me. I would like to see consoles staggered so that I could get something new every 3 years instead of going broke every 6 years...
