I do like trophies as a way to extend certain parts of games that you normally don't pay attention to, and it's also a way of rewarding someone for putting some time into playing their game.

What I usually do is find a game that took someone months to get trophies on, and to piss them off I'll get the trophies they got in days (sometimes hours depending), then I go back to my Puzzle Fighter or Castlevania SotN :D
I prove to them trophies is nothing but bragging rights, and they dont have the right to brag if what I can do in days takes them months, especially when I dont need help and they require the internet
I know so many people who refuse to buy any games because they have 0 trophy support. I have one friend who clowns me (that's make fun of for people who aren't fluent in street language) because I prefer to play Puzzle Fighter and Street Fighter HD Remix over Savage Moon and Flower because they don't have Trophies.

I do see your point in what your trying to make, however there are those few who do live on the ahcievement/trophy line. Personally I use trophies as a "Checklist" to see if I can do what the makers of the game think I can't do, and if you check my current trophy list you will see I can beat games less than 7 days (my name on PSN is Nitrojin). Usually on the box itself it says "Only on Xbox and Windows" however I do remember the whole Bioshock incident which was later ported to the PS3 (good game on both systems by the way).

This is the kind of B.S. shows how ignorant a lot of people are. Most of the time someones "opinion" all of the sudden becomes "fact" and is also used in some sort of counter-argument.
Real gamers like me don't care who the lead platform is or how many pixels a character model has; we're more concerned with funfactor and the replay value.

CoD4: Very high story replay, very easy to connect/play with other people online, and has a very realistic story that actually made me think of certain things in real life
KillZone 2: An online simulation to prepare for online, very challenging final level, a big ending climax to lead to a 3rd game (Which I would buy), made use of the Six Axis in ways that made the game more fun

The problem I see is fanboys nitpicking everything just to justify their console of choice.
My choice of gaming is very different from other people: and yes I am a proud PS3 owner with little reason to buy another 360; not because of hardware failure or because of paid online service, but because there isn't enough games that will make me give the console a second chance.

Xbox can go all day about what RPG's they have available, however the best RPG's I've played aren't in HD graphics, don't have achievements/trophies, and are very hard to find in physical form (that doesnt mean twist what I say if they are available for download).
