Neither console version has anti aliasing...exactly like the first. Both run 1280 x 720 no AA
Anti aliasing FTW :D
If i were forced to call it, i would say 360 has better particles e.g shot 3 water splash, and shot 4 sparks resolution. Some EXTREMELY marginal minor textures here and there like in the first shot on the hills on the distant right, shot 11 rocks/cliff on the right side, shot 14 in front of the guy running on the far left on the ground besides the foliage etc. Try looking at the specific things i pointed out yourself before disagreeing blindly without reading further down my comment.... The ...
I think the author has horribly mistaken deadly premonition as 'weirdy great' instead of the reality- which is simply 'shockingly poor'. Deadly premonition looks horrendous, every aspect of it seriously from animation to models and lighting it just about passes as a nasty HD PS2 game. Audio wise its dreadful, i have heard better sound design and effects from 16 bit era console games. Voice acting and scripting is ridiculously stupid. Pacing is mind numbingly slow, there isnt the smallest exci...
I like the video which gives a very nice idea of multiple core scaling in games. Source is excellent. It becomes very evident who has developed their games well for PC. which engines scale well between 2-6 cores and which dont.
I like the picture nicely added to this article. Dirty console peasants LOL get your filthy hands off my geforce.
Seriously though, PC gamers need to be a little more social to gamers outside of the PC family. Reasons because everytime a console only gamer who has never cast eyes on a decent gaming PC sees one running games i.e mine, their mouths drop and their eyes shine, and they think seriously about making a machine similar.
Despite the slowdown in sales, despite game studios and others dissing wii, its still outselling 360 and PS3 by a silly margin worldwide. Software sales are still good, and why would nintendo care anyway- the margins on the wii hardware are gonna be much bigger than on 360 or PS3, its seriously cheap to make and the peripherals are so expensive at retail nintendo clearly arent losing money on them.
It just doesnt make financial sense for nintendo to launch themselves into the H...
God wars episode 5: The athiests strike back
Preposterously pretty. THIS is what PC can do in 2010, not a bunch of unambitious console ports
It doesnt seem much more than a straightforward port, small improvements at best. The worst DRM i have ever seen. Ubisoft need to get a grip!
As for this i would prefer some benchmarks now. At the very least it should run very fast on a modest machine- it better anyway
So they denounce western decadence, but at the same time they fancy a sneaky game of tomb raider to see some giant triangle boobs on their PS1s. Its not even a dual shock. Poor sods, another reason to hate the capitalist pigs with their shiny new PS3s and 360s lol
Wonder if my GAME will close- it took over from an Our price when they went under. No gamestation here, so i wonder if they will pull the plug and leave us with no dedicated videogame stores. TBH i cant say i have bought anything from the store for years, practically every game i now buy online because their prices are always far more expensive, and i have found i typically get a game a couple days early too as well as saving money.
It doesnt help that the staff were completely...
Well thats the thing isnt it, where are the games that could really take advantage of these cards? With so many console ports, midrange cards quite easily cope with most games up to 1920 x 1200. I was perusing the recent 5830 reviews (disappointing price/performance) and tested against a whole bunch of other cards, the GTX260 and 4870 still hardly break a sweat in well.....practically anything besides crysis!
Unless you game at over 1920 x 1200, or simply have to have the best ...
Its been a couple years. I would say 8800GT was the last Nvidia designed world champion price/performance king. Slightly slower than an 8800GTX for common resolutions (about 10-15 percent), much faster than a G92 8800GTS and 2900XT, it managed to make them obsolete. At a time 8800GTX was 300+ pounds, and other two i mentioned here hovered closer to 250, 8800GT came in 180ish which was still a premium- because the demand for them was obviously ferocious at launch,
At that sort of price, I wouldnt hold my breath for an instant price cut on those cards, unless ati decide to reduce the 5870 and GTX285 becomes stock clearout. GTX285 will still be nvidias third fastest single GPU card, GTX260 still will have no real replacement from nvidia until they come up with lower range derivative DX11 parts off these first releases. I wouldnt forecast a price cut on that at all for a while yet so it will at least retain more of its value for a while i guess!
Paper launch.
As for the price- Maybe. Maybe not. These are the top dogs, massively expensive halo products but it all hinges on performance of course! 5970 goes for 650 dollars im seeing, and 5870 for 400. If GTX480 comes within 20 percent of 5970 in performance, then nvidia can and will demand a premium as a single GPU card with Physx like they did with GTX285. It wont matter so much if 5970 is still faster, Single GPU cards are usually viewed as slightly more valuable becaus...
I think its more likely it will be. However i doubt it could be claimed as a system seller. If you havent bought a machine for 1 or 2 in any series, why buy one for the third?
They could at least knock out some screens from tracks we havent seen much of....i mean why not a bunch of night shots from SSR5 that we all know is there but seen practically nothing of.
Microsoft would fight hard to prevent exclusivity to PS3, but the fact was just after the game was announced for 360, rockstar had said that sony did not do the deal for exclusivity- it was on the table because of rockstars' past deals with GTA and the playstation brand. Sony simply didnt take it.
If sony have any sense they will do a deal for this one game, this is the game that would really re balance the console wars in their favour, and i too agree that bluray is the place ...
Crying out loud....they havent even turned on AA in the PC version. Retards. Dont see how i could trust this comparison when the Pc version clearly isnt taking advantage of said platform perks most Pc gamers will enable
