Parents should secure their credit cards better. Gambling addicts that spend in excess need help for sure, but placing restrictions on the rest of society because some people are irresponsible is not the solution.

Gun control isn’t about protecting people from themselves. It’s about protecting people from other people, as ineffective as it is.

Drug abuse also affects other people, largely because drug crimes tend to result in other potentially more violent crimes.

Gambling addiction shouldn’t be handled with a public ban. Also, a public ban isn’t going to make a person with an addiction lose the addiction.

Your mate could just exercise self-control. We shouldn’t need government regulations to protect us from ourselves.

Telling people to vote with their wallet is meaningless. People are already voting with their wallet. They just aren't voting the way you would prefer.

I would prefer to choose how I spend my own money. I don’t need the Government to “protect me” from my own choices. I would like to think that the rest of the world is capable of self control.

That’s exactly how they should respond. I think it’s pathetic that there was a controversy over this in the first place.

No worries. I have faith in the PC modding community.

I'm pretty sure all video games are not safe for work.

I knew this was going to be a thing developers do going forward after reading about Outlast 2 getting AO content patched back in.

As far as legality, all that is necessary to stay above board is to buy the game cheap on eBay and create the ROM from that. Emulation is perfectly legal that way. The developer gets no money from used sales, so from a practical standpoint it doesn't really matter to the developer if someone downloads the ROM or creates the ROM the legal way.

I see a lot of articles about a controversy, but I haven't actually seen a controversy yet.

As far as I am concerned, the early ending in Far Cry 4 was the true ending. I wish Ubisoft had given us the option to side with Pagan Min and dismantle the Golden Path.

I’d have more respect for them if they just stood by their decision instead of apologizing for it. People want sexualized characters. Who cares what SJWs think?

@Akarogg

Pixels are not people, so no one should feel empathy for them.

Now let’s address your insult. There are two possible scenarios here.

1) If submarinna is not a psycho, he or she will likely be able to identify that pretty easily, making your insult ineffective.

2) If submarinna is a psychopath, then he or she lacks the capacity for remorse, which would also make your insult ineffective. Psychopaths couldn’t ...

It wouldn’t get banned. The U.S. doesn’t tend to ban games unless some part of the game is illegal, as was the case with The Guy Game.

Lies. That's exactly what I expect of Konami now.

I’m just going to say it: I’m ok with stronger age enforcement in video games. The fewer people having sex with my mother the better.

Microtransactions proved profitable because consumers spent money on them. Supplying that demand is rational. Businesses are in it to make money, so if people are willing to spend money on MTs (and they are), then why not include them?

81BX has a point actually. The price of games has not kept up with inflation. Games are cheaper now than they ever have been, despite having significantly higher development costs.

New NES games were $29.99 in 1985. That’s over $70 today, yet new games are released at $59.99.
