This list sucked. The author obviously hasn't played a new game in a while.
um.....no.
Either this took a long time to get submitted or the site is very slow. Doesn't really help many people when the deal only lasts 24 hours.
There is an interview at Digital Foundry about how much effort they put into lessening the hardware taxation, PC and console alike. Indications are that it is going to run quite well.
Not to knock Stalker and GSC, as they make absolutely fantastic games, but this is no xray engine, thank goodness.
Disagrees are detached from reality. Consoles can't do this. Sorry!
Stockholm Syndrome.
There are more GoTY awards given out than there are the number of titles deserving of the honour. Nearly every 'good' game can usually lay claim to the top spot so debate is absolutely pointless.
Yes. The game has been deemed good. Unfortunately, Sessler has taken it into the realm of a hyperbole jizzfest.
@ below: This kind of overblown vernacular has been heard time and time again. GTA IV, Halo 3, etc. None of those games resembled what was described. The truly even minded and even-keeled critiques come after a game's release, when people actually take off the rose coloured glasses.
Different reviewers. It's pretty simple. You're dim.
His amazing grasp of the English language deserves a 10.
The title... *Biased
I didn't say they were the same thing. What they experienced over the weekend is an example of what's to come, be it weather or a hacker. The only way to prevent DRM like this is for people to keep away from it and not show their support by buying the games. It's the only leverage the paying customer has, and they are putting their own platform in a choke hold by buying into this.
Sorry but the people who bought Assassin's Creed II and SH5, whether aware or not of the DRM, deserve this. It's a wake up call of what's to come when, on a rainy day their internet goes down, and they can't play the damn game.
Their purchase proves they don't realise how serious this is. Now they do.
Oh wow. Amazing substance there. "Shoes are kickass" "You will need them in the game"
It's very comic that, because I have dissenting opinion on your over-glorified object of worship, you believe I am excited for Natal. Congrats. Gold Medal for your intellectual gymnastics.
I don't like the series and find it to be quite crap <== different from a console, but you're obviously too retarded to make the differentiation.
It's pretty simple really. God of War always looks fantastic and sets up amazing set pieces but the game part is quite mediocre. Combat lacks depth, you barely even have to pay attention to the combos or skill trees, and boss battles have you guessing at the scripting rather than utilising the game's tool set in inventive ways. Hope this one is different but it certainly doesn't appear so.
Probably the best and nuanced animations I've ever seen.
Shame that the game is God of War (I assume based off the previous: sloppy combat, boring combos, daft and unclear level design) because the spectacle is amazing.
@Kigmal
Roger Ebert doesn't have a jaw any more and eats through a tube, jackass.
Considering your attitude, he has likely accomplished more than you ever will.
You people. lols.
Absolutely. Risen never holds your hand, unlike the autopilot Mass Effect 2. It takes a lot of time to grasp all the systems, come to grips with the difficulty. A true PC game.
IGN's writing quality is often horrendous. Some are saying this guy was the exception, but otherwise I have a hard time feeling sorry for losses at such a juvenile and piss-poor publication.
If Roper is indeed worthy of respect, then he'll find himself some place deserving of his talent.
