Were you looking at the comparisons on a 4k screen? If not, your point is moot, as any1 who tried playing gears 1 on a CRT screen will tell you, the increased detail is lost, as there simply aren't enough pixels to show the improvements.

The realism in forza is unmatched, and can be as arcade or realistic as the player wants, just adjust the assists etc. Forza 7 has handling that reacts realistically to weather conditions, simulating the car's reactions to weather by doing things such as aquaplaning for example, gt sport does not. But that's the problem, they aren't going to ship big numbers to territories where they would likely sit in warehouses. It sucks, but it's business. What if you imported one using a credit card?
