It will beat Halo simply because it's a multiplatform game. GTA is a completely different genre not known for its mutliplayer. I wouldn't count on either of these beating CoD. With all of the problems, it is still receiving 9's and 10's in reviews and outsells each previous version each year.

Unfortunately, it will. It always does. They have such a huge fanbase, they can really do no wrong. Even with all of the videos and glaring reported problems, their fans will not abandon them. Makes no sense to me...

20 million people may care about the game but nobody really looks at an announcement of another CoD as "news". There has been a CoD released every November since 2005.

I hate CoD as well but there is actually a two year dev cycle. That's why they have been alternating between Infinity Ward and Treyarch.

Well, congratulations on getting a few free points from Microsoft. It's really funny how you confuse price inflation with currency exchange. Currently 80 points may still be worth a dollar. Ten years from now, 80 points may still in fact be worth a dollar. But what does that matter if the things you buy triple in price?

And BTW, Sony doesn't have to reward you with bullshit currency. They just give you free downloads. And also, I got a free $10 voucher from them...

And Microsoft truly loves you for this. That is their true reason for the point system...

I personally don't care if they use points, dollars, rupees, gil, or zenny. What I don't agree with is not being able to just pay for what I need. I hate having to buy a bunch of points just to make up a 20 point difference. And then, you don't want to buy the smallest point value because you know you can't do anything with THAT balance yet again!

5255d ago 3 agree0 disagreeView comment

What does that have to do with anything? 80 points may always cost you a dollar but $1 will always equal $1. What will fluctuate is the cost of what you are buying. What might have cost 800 points can easily increase to 1000. The reason that points are such a ripoff is that you always end up short by like 20 points and have to buy like 400 just to make up that difference. A dollar amount is most efficient like the PSN uses. As long as your total purchase is over $5, you can pay exactly ...

It's not about bashing. CoD is the most popular FPS on a console right now and it's obviously flawed. There are multiple videos online showing this. This is completely absurd. This stuff should never happen, yet as you can see, it clearly does. IW needs to fix this and test their product more extensively.

I agree. I really don't believe that he is as innocent as he pretends to be. How would Activision even know what he was doing if he didn't post it online? I believe he is seeking fame and trying to land a job or something. If he was just being curious, he should have just put his results on his own PC or server. But you know the saying, once something is uploaded to the internet, it's there forever...

I actually sort of agree with you on this one. I will say that the PS3 version of this game is an inferior product. To be honest, I really don't notice much of a difference in resolution, but the PS3 gets shitted on for DLC. This game has always been optimized for Xbox 360. I don't believe that it's the PS3 that makes the game inferior, just the development of the game.

I personally bought the game with Elite on PS3 solely because I can play online for free....

I agree. Everything is working fine now. It was only the night they rolled out the update and even then I'm sure it only lasted a few hours.

Certainly not a fanboy, yet I had tons of problems yesterday. I kept getting signed out of XBL after the update. Then once I couldn't sign in at all after restarting my console. I waited about 45 minutes tried again and it worked.

But with the current state of things, if nobody buys it, a new one will never be released. While it's true that several series have gotten reboots later, a large percentage of them have been shelved indefinitely because of poor sales.

Also, too many reviewers give games that belong to great IP's inflated scores. This does not help publishers know that their product is becoming over-saturated.

Defensive? No, only the HD pack comment was actually in response to your post. I was just tired of the pointless banter about what the damn HD meant. The rest was more in response to the actual article. I'm sorry if you took it personal.

This was by no means a remark about my "beloved" console. I actually have most of my games on 360 except for exclusives, fighters, and games with multiple discs on the 360. Truth be told, the PS3 actually drives me crazy...

First of all, it wasn't an HD pack. It was a high-res texture pack. True, the game did look terrible without the pack, but it was not the way the game was intended to look. Also, was this article only gear towards the Xbox 360? There was no such thing on the PS3. Yes, there was a mandatory install on PS3 but that's no different than most of their games. The graphical "fault" should be placed on the limitations of the Xbox 360, not the game. There were only two other o...

And WTF is up with dinging the game because it needed to do an install on 360? Maybe if CoD did that, the game might actually look better for a change. I am so sick of N4G and it's trolling articles...

Well, i agree with you completely about that. I honestly believe that a review should be from more than one reviewer. One person's frustration should not be the only source for the article. I could easily give Madden a low score just because I don't know how to play the game and got frustrated. I could also give Madden an inflated good score because I'm the best Madden player in my neighborhood and have no problems with even the most frustratingly maddening things in the game....

Yes, it is an opinion but it is also a review. There are several games out there that I don't like because they're not my type of game or because I was disappointed. But that does not excuse a reviewer for giving a great game such an abysmal score. You don't have to give it a perfect 10, but don't bash it. Be honest. Don't just review a game based on it's flaws. And if you have a flaw, be prepared to back it up. And also be prepared to have your review compared ...
