Your issue seems to be that you've been bitten by the marketing bug. You're clearly caught up in numbers. I don't need a lesson in percentages and numbers of pixels, I get it...I've seen them for years. What makes my decision is real world applications. The truth is that the 44% figure on paper doesn't translate to LOOKING 44% better...if so, that'd be HUGE...and we wouldn't even have comparison videos. The fact is both are 1080p, one is just upscaled from 900...
Agreed, I get this is why we have BETAs. :) That being said, Activision's servers aren't new, they use them for Destiny as well...as far as dedicated servers are though...they are pretty bad. Admittedly, we are at a point where we are getting spoiled by server quality...so alone, I'm not saying they are complete crap, but after playing games on Azure servers...it just feels like a step backwards.

Better FPS (esp under strain), Less Pop Ins, Better controller vs slightly less refined/softer resolution mainly noticeable at range when someone isn't moving. Clear X1 win for me on this one, not even a comparison really. Gameplay will ALWAYS trump aesthetics.
Not to mention other issues like skill level being higher among X1 gamers (you know, "the COD console" for the last decade). This game went from "SP Only" for me to "I'll play MP afte...
I'm going X1 version after playing both console BETAs. PC definitely looks the best, PS4 looks ever so slightly sharper than X1 version, but it comes with the cost of Pop-Ins and FPS issues...I'll take the lower res since it doesn't make a massive difference but the FPS issues on PS4 was annoying. I did notice that it was slightly less defined than the PS4 version, but no where near as drastic as this article makes it seem...and I've NEVER had a problem noticing someone at range. I love the game itself, but yeah, servers are DEFINITELY the low point of this game for me. I KNOW it won't happen but I wish they'd drop the parity for this one. Let the PS4 version take advantage of it's strength and run at native 1080p and let the X1 take advantage of it's strength and use Azure servers instead of Activision's crap servers.

This is the heart of the matter. I have been a PS fan from the beginning, but this is the thing this gen that has me concerned. @Cohagen below...what I think would COMPLETELY turn things on it's head is if they announce a fully functioning Steam app/store....with DX12 making porting extremely easy, it'd be sweet if they had it so that everything available on Steam was able to play on X1....it'd open millions more customers to STEAM and X1/MS could charge a small percentage to make it profitable....then all the sudden humble-bundle deals would be a thing as well...
@Rookie ...plus coming universal apps, a faster UI on top of an already awesome UI, plus crossplay/crossbuy, streaming, multiple options for HMD's...including the only AR device, Cortana (which allows for things such as natural speech party invites and such), and Project Irides that may be used to allow the powerful Occulus to perform full VR on the X1.

So far I agree with the it being the best COD yet....although usually what happens is that I feel like that during the BETA or for the first little while..then everyone finds the Overpowered weapon/class/combo...and that's all you ever see again. Then the game is filled with dropshotters/quickscopers/and those just using THE overpowered weapon.

Not actually true, read it again....X1 actually has a VERY slight advantage during gameplay as well....admittedly not a huge deal...NEITHER ADVANTAGE IS...that's why I said nearly identical.
By your same logic, you can say that the Res looks the exact same unless you are staring at the edge of the horizon.
Neither version has a brag-able advtantage...so it's down to the tiniest preference...I prefer FPS EVEN IF it's only during a cutscene...esp ...
So essentially they are identical except one has a longer draw distance clarity and the other has a more solid FPS throughout. As the article said, neither really has anything to boast about, but I'll stick with the FPS like I always do...it makes a much more noticeable difference.
...it also so happens that it's on the console that has the better controller IMO.
