Nailed it. You'll be down-voted and called stupid by people that will never even play the game...but "know" it's not as good as _________ (usually UC4). Leaves me scratching my head, seems that most people that have actually played both tend to prefer Gears.
It might be better in story telling, but not by much. In terms of gameplay, Gears KILLS UC4. Gears even looks better. In fact with RotTR dropping on PS4 this year, UC4 isn't even the best game on PS this year.
Nah, Gears is the better of the two, but UC4 was a good game.
Deus EX WAS amazing. That game is behind Gears and BF1 for GOTY as of today for me. I would also throw FH3 in there...first time I'd even consider a racing game for GOTY. BF1 is DEFINITLEY on that list because it is flat out f'n AMAZING so far.
You're just proving why NOT to trust Metacritic. UC4 was getting 10/10 from sites saying it's perfect for sticking to it's roots....THOSE EXACT SAME SITES gave Gears 5-7/10 for doing the same thing. If the reviews had been a little less biased about that...that 8 point gap could easily disappear or even flip. Either way, it's odd seeing all the people on this thread that never have/never will play Gears saying how "there's no way" and just using Metacritic as...
You make a solid point, but it's just and odd example you came up with...cause after playing all those games....I feel Gears is the one that should be 90+ and the other 2 not so much...esp in the case of Overwatch...I returned that game the same day.
UC4 was good, but wildly over-rated and simply benefits from several biased reviews that gave the game "benefits of the doubt" that no other games got...and in certain cases the other games even got knocked for doing what UC4 did. usually in terms of "staying true to the originals/not changing much"
Completely agree so far. This game is fantastic.
All that is proving is bias in reviews really. All you have to do is play the game to see that.
I'm excited about Horizon, Days Gone, and God of War, but that's about it.
A site with "playstation" in the title gives the game an 8/10 when Meta has it at 65. That's how you know it's not up to par.
It's also why someone shouldn't be surprised at the lengths they would go to in order to make it succeed.

It actually seems to be affecting quite a few people. It is also not the best rated VR device, nor does it have the best exclusives, you just flat out made that up. It IS the cheapest and most easily accesible one for now, but past that, it is not the "best" at any perspective of VR gaming. Each person has their own opinion...and that's fine...but my current opinion stands at pass on PSVR, wait a year and grab Vive or Rift (potentially a 1st or 2nd gen device) when they work ...
It's a good game, just an easy one to point out bias is all. I have nothing specific against the game, just think it benefits a ton from bias.

It seems to me that it's the exact opposite. The game is getting scrutinized unfairly. Any "issues" with the game are EXTREMELY minor and are getting blown wildly out of proportion. Among myself and all my friends, and everyone I have met online....NO ONE has had any issues with the game...to this day I have literally never even come in contact with someone that says they have had an issue. That doesn't mean it doesn't exist, but based on past experiences, if a game ...
I think it's because PSVR games for the most part are coming across like Tech Demos at the moment. Esp when the two other major VR devices are actually doing full VR versions of games with bigger libraries. So it IS a fair criticism.

You basically just described UC4 except that it had a good story...but was TOOO long...it actually over-stayed it's welcome. 2nd to that, all you did was prove you've never played the game. Anyone saying the campaign had a weak story and was too short clearly speed ran the game and didn't pay attention.
