The marketing for the OG Xbox one was just a mess, they tried to tell everyone that this is the only box you need in your living room, and as a strategy it largely didn't work too well. However, fast forward to today where MS is very smartly with some clever reverse psychology saying,' you don't need this'. And people are saying ' hmm perhaps I do, let me see'.......wait till you see your buddys enhanced version of your vanilla experience, then try telling yourself you...
I only regularly play about 5 of the 40 titles I have installed currently, have just uninstalled about ten of those and left the save files.... It's no big deal to re download a game when I finally decide to play it. ......I think from a price point it would have been more of a deterrent if they'd doubled or tripled the storage and stuck an extra hundred on the cost to compensate.
What a contrast from the OG Xbox one launch that came with inflated claims of potential and so much negative momentum that it struggled to recover. This time around MS have let the box do the talking and I think it was a gamble and a master stroke to let such a respected group such as Digital Foundry loose on the box so early...and it has ridden a tide of positivity ever since as the nay sayers have been muted and more reviewers have simply gone 'wow'. It's early days but I'm ...
Phew, it's just an opinion piece. Was just about to cancel my pre order.
Yeah there's a lot of talk about super sampling, I'd be interested to see just what the real world results were on a 1080 screen.
Both for me I'm afraid. I'm resigned to the fact that at 48, my wife my kids and even the dog come before me in the queue for the TV remote....so unless I get that rare ' me time' with the console and the 4k TV, it's off to the cubby hole to the old PC and CS:Go or some play anywhere title.
If you're always waiting for next gen, tomorrow never comes.......you gotta grab the tech that is currently available.
Dude please!!!!! Dont worry, If you even have to ask the question then it's not for you.
Boy George reckons ' War is stupid, and the people are stupid'
I'll be honest and admit that I avoided DF articles like the plague when the original Xbox one launched against the PS4. Every comparison landed unfavourable and I didn't want to hear it........ However things have changed and I now get butterfly's every time DF mention the One X.......happy days.
Cut the guy some slack, watch him or don't watch him, your choice.
If they gunna do it, I'd rather it rolled out now and tested, so there's not a day one system/UI patch for the OneX with potential bugs and glitches I suppose.
Seriously dude, they're gunna plug da source into da cloud and UPGRADE this sumbitch, it could happen.
Phew, I'm so glad this is just an opinion piece. Naysaying, killjoy, partypooper.
Wow I didn't actually realise how much more powerful the two mid gen console's were than their vanilla counterparts until I've just seen it in relative terms in the last page of this article.
Sorry typo......TB...lol
So if you buy an Xbox one X you will download the assets regardless of your displays resolution right?, It would be handy to know a ballpark figure on the typical extra file size of these downloads compared to the regular Xbox one versions. I have a feeling that my current juggling on my 2gb external is going to be a bit of a squeeze, and would be nice to be prepared for this issue before a launch day download frenzy.
No Man Buy.
Everyone knows that the human eye is only capable of perceiving 720p/24fps.......relax I'm joking it's 30fps.........
My wife says size is irrelevant. And I'm not in the mood to argue since I've quite selfishly took Tuesday off to pick up my Xbox one X.
