Technically the PS3 had a much faster CPU which was pretty much cancelled out my the more efficient GPU and unified memory on the 360.

The correct answer is whichever console gives you the best value. Value=Subjective. I will own the PS4/WiiU/XB1 eventually.
If I could only choose one console right now then it would be the XB1. I just prefer the exclusives on XB1. The controller. And XBox Live service.

95% of all games on the 360 did just fine with 1 disc on DVD so Blu-Ray was a "business" decision made my Sony that not only caused the PS3 to delay it's launch and have limited quantities at first. But it also made the console $200.00 more MSRP above the 360 and caused massive financial losses in the multi billions for Sony.
