So some idiot took the total number of PSN accounts at 17 million and says that 17 million unique PS3 owners go online. Forget the fact that PSN is made up of PS3 and PSP users. Forget the fact that I myself have 2 PSN accounts, and made a third PS2 account for my son when I got him a PSP for Christmas. Oh and yes I have looged in with all 3 within the past year. That gap is 7 million. The same as when the PS3 launched. Whatever ground was gained at the end of last year through the middle of this year was lost rather quickly once the 360 dropped price in September.
SDF needs to update thier numbers please. BTW I was one of those PS3 owners who tried to help close the gap. But go ahead and rape my bubbles or hit disagree. It wont change the fact that the PS3 is losing marketshare to the 360 as we speak.

Microsoft screwed over developers by giving them more efficient hardware to work with? Better development tools, and creating an install base of hardcore gamers that actually buy games?
I am pretty sure devlopers would prefer to work without a standard HDD and the faster speed of DVD-9 instead of the almighty Cell and slower Blu-Ray.

Heaven forbid that maybe, just maybe the PS3 isnt all that and a bag of chips. Just maybe price does matter. Just maybe the 360 has a larger selection of games. Just maybe some people prefer the 360 to the PS3.

Although I own all 3 consoles. I admittedly prefer the 360. I tried LBP. Its a good game. So I hope it has great success. In fact I am buying it for my kids this Christmas.

My sister got hers for Blu-Ray to go with her 1080P LCD HDTV. She doesnt play games.
I got my PS3 to play games, and have only purchased 1 Blu-Ray movie. I buy all multiplatform on my 360, and only get exclusives for my PS3. I am a hardcore gamer.
My brother got his PS3 half for games and half for Blu-Ray movies. He doesnt even buy the PS3 exclusives. He gets games...
The PS3 and 360 are barely capable of running games at 1080P native resolution. The amount of CPU/GPU/RAM to do 1080P justice is a generation away.

If you want to talk about value from a pure gamers perspective. It's the Arcade 360 for $199.00
You get the same graphics as the PS3 for half the price and a larger gaming library.
If you want value for your HD movie player then by all means buy a PS3.
You want to play games with last gen graphics buy a Wii.
But pure gaming bang for the buck is the 360 Arcade. Hands down.
These sales estimates are for the whole week ending Nov 29 2008. So for all we know the 360 may have indeed outsold the PS3 3:1 in the US on Black Friday.
