That's a good point. Nintendo was taking a huge risk with the motion controls. They didn't worry too much about upgrading the tech, they just modified the gamecube.
If it had failed, they could just bail on it and move on to a real "Next-Gen" console without much of a loss from the failed attempt.
They need a new console badly. Well, actually, we need a new Nintendo console badly (Nintendo still raking in cash, even with declining sales).
480p doesn't cut it anymore, especially on my 47" HDTV. Even over the air TV broadcast are better (in USA anyway).
Before someone cries "graphics aren't everything", go back and watch a VHS tape of a good movie, don't you think the movie would be more enjoyable on bluray?

I agree on RDR.
RDR had hours of free roaming, story SP and MP.
Halo: Lots of MP, short SP
FONV: Lots of SP, no MP
I'm just about ready to lump the online shooters in with the casual "farmville" games.
