interesting theory, but I seriously doubt that was their idea in the first place. It seems more reasonable it went more like this "Wow...that wii sure is making a lot more money than we are....how can we cash in on some of that"

Silent hill is one of my favorite series every. 1-4 in hd on one blu-ray disc and trophies and i'd probably be more excited than I am for killzone 3.....which is a lot.
First week the game came out I basically played every waking second I could which was good enough for like top half of a percent. I imagine it would be a little easier at this point but keeping interest long enough throughout the week would be hard.
*shudders* the W@W platinum was one of those things where i had already put too much work in to the game to give up on the platinum. .....so many nades.....so many...

Yeah it looks dumb but we'll never really know how it would have felt. Sony should try designing a new controller and release it for the ps3 to test it out before the ps4 to test it out see if they can't come up with anything better. I like the ds3 but I do feel like it could be time for a change.
You hit the nail on the head I think. People are likely to bitch either way. I just hope they don't pull an U2 and completely change the mp 2 months after release because people were bitching too much.
^exactly why developers shouldn't always listen to people who whine on the internet. Most of the whiners were done the second they started complaining so why try to appease them. Most of the time BIG changes to MP are just gonna push more people out. I'm all for balancing but huge changes after the game comes out is a big mistake. UC2 is the poster child for this problem.
I played the kz3 beta and yeah it's fun. It doesn't need to be exactly like KZ2......
Ocarina had a way of making every game you play after it feel inadequate. :P

Really? They lowered it from 32 to 24? That actually makes me kind of happy. I loved KZ2 but most of those maps were NOT made for 32 people and people still made the rooms that way it was most of the time a clusterf*ck. Should make it a little more strategic.

isn't a year of plus $50...and a year of dcuo would total $180? I remember when people used to think they deserved free monthly fees for being a plus member but seriously...what would be the point of paying for the monthly fee if theyre charging a third of the price for plus and you get all the other perks. The largest discount I could conceive of them allowing would be $4 a month. which would just barely total under the price of a plus sub so highly unlikely.

Games like WOW have paid expansions as well as the monthly fee like the recently released cataclysm. The fee generally goes to server maintenance...general updates to engine/gameplay updates/balancing, and keeping hackers/bots out. I think they're just saying no big paid add-ons. Most likely they'll be putting in more frequent but smaller add-ons. New quests, maybe new areas.
if they left rental copies alone with keys that could be used infinite times...then pirates would just rip and burn rental copies rendering a system like this useless. However they could make to where rental companies had a system to reset the systems it's been activated on everytime they rent out the game. maybe, but I have a feeling that would be about the equivalent if people started paying kidnappers what they were asking...it's just gonna encourage more hacking if ya get my drift.
I think panda is right...i think that would be a little much for the pc crowd to handle. It could be offset with a little aim assist on the console side though maybe.
edit: 3/4 of the people I've played l4d2 with online on pc are preeeetty bad already though now that I think about it.
