No I haven't played Deus Ex and I'd like to. All I objected to was the line 'Metroid Prime isn't even that great game'.

It is my personal opinion, in terms of my personal taste, that is usually preferable, if you can, to play a game on a system made by the studio who made the game, although if the enhancements on the port are significant some may prefer to play the port.

Playing Crazy Taxi on the Dreamcast will always feel better to me than playing it on the con...

That's why Metroid Prime has a Metacritic rating of 97% is it? By not being a great game? I understand that it wouldn't satisy frag fans much - it's not meant to. It's a deep adventure with great level design.

You're entitled to your view Guy 169 but it's surely the first party titles that are most important- otherwise we may as well be playing all our games on the PC as we could with the Silent Hill games (and the Xbox got Silent Hill: The Room).

The Dreamcast had more than a great launch line up. Later on it had Resident Evil: Code Veronica and Jet Set Radio.

Which 2 (now 3) fools disagreed with my post that said:

'Someone please tell me which aspect o...

Sony deliberately chose not to pay for exclusivity deals to protect games like GTA4 going to Microsoft, probably because Sony reckoned that it was the Sony name, not the exclusive games or range of games, that was selling the console. But Sony got caught out- it seems that if you're not going to have so many games you can't rely on an untested number of people wanting to pay a premium price for Bluray and Bluray discs rather than sticking with their existing and extensive DVD collection.

I live in the UK. The last victory for the most deserving console was when the Megadrive sold more than the SNES here (although the SNES sold more worldwide). The SNES had some great games but the Megadrive had some even better ones in my opinion.

Ever since then Sega launch the Dreamcast, a faultless machine with many great arcade or arcade-style games and it only sells 10 million
units.

Nintendo release the Gamecube, a console with a much more elegant en...

I think that in this article they probably mean a 'profit for publishers', not a 'prophet for publishers'.

I say that the demise of the PS2 in terms of selling games is overdue. To me, the PS2 become synomonous with being a soulless machine (ironic for a console with an 'Emotion Engine') pumping out loads of games with only a relative few true greats. Compare that to the more limited but richer library on the Dreamcast or Gamecube.

Like the Wii now, the sales of ...

In regards to the Gamecube games:

I guessed that they would choose Resident Evil as the best graphical jump but I was thinking of the remake instead- it has superb character models, beautiful cut scenes and detailed pre-rendered rooms. It's a work of great art.

I guessed that they would pick The Wind Waker for serving a creative vision.

I thought that as the award for technical excellence was described as being for a game that knows the insides out...

"Resident Evil 4 is almost universally adored".

If it's almost universally adored then the jury shouldn't still be "out on whether you could classify Resident Evil 4 as a "classic" RE title."

I remember being quite underwhelmed by the opening sections of Resident Evil 4- the earthy brown colours and nondescript huts were a world away from the ornate detail in the Resident Evil remake pre-rendered rooms. The video of the hooked hand...

Sega aren't what they used to be? Well maybe but you could say that platform gaming isn't what it used to be to some extent ever since the concentration moved from 2D to 3D games (even though there have been some great 3D platform games they often very different from the tight ideas and execution in 2D games).

When Sega were creating great games like Virtua Tennis, Crazy Taxi and Jet Set Radio and releasing them on the Dreamcast, not enough people bought that console.

The trailer showed a little sister holding a small 'Big' Daddy.

Will Big Sisters be protecting Little Daddies this time?

I'm not sure the idea of protecting a tiny little man in a diving suit is quite as involving though.

Maybe the Big Daddies need protecting by the Big Sisters?

Am I living in the same universe as Steve Balmer?

Why he is pulling a face like Gene Simmons from Kiss? At least put some make up on to hide the horror.

In 25 years of playing games, I can count the number of times that I've seen any sex scenes in games that I've played on the fingers on one hand- which is fortunate because one hand is all I'd have available if one cropped up.

I like your comment Morgue but I'm not clicking agree because it may seem like I don't like the Dreamcast, which would be far from the truth.

As I posted on the site:

'People will obviously say that there are certain games not included in the collection, but with the vast collection of games already on the disc you can just tell them to shut up as there is enough here to keep anyone happy.'

You're telling me to shut up. This part of your review is arrogant. There is nothing 'ultimate' about a collection that misses many of the great game Megadrive Disney games such as Aladdin, Castle of Illusion, World...

There are similarities:

Both were the most technologically advanced consoles when they were released (at least in terms of the number of in-built features Xbox 360 fans).

Both are/were in last place in terms of their major competition, making the PS2's 'The Third Place' slogan true in a different way than Sony intended a generation later.

However Sega's philosophy, despite its plethora of add ons and too niche consoles between the Megadrive and Dre...

It's quite a good article. I would have rather asked 'Are there games that do what Mario does better?' My answer would have been yes.

Mario may have practically been the first platform game hero but, living in England, by the time NES came out here, it was not that strong a seller as it was prehistoric compared to the Commodore Amiga. Pre-Amiga, the British generally, wisely, decided to pay £2.99 for games by the likes of Codemasters than £40 for cartridges that had l...

My question 'Can somebody tell me why Killzone 2 is so great?' was not meant to be sarcastically rhetorical. Can somebody try to answer it (rather than disgareeing with me asking the question) preferably in comparison to other Edge 8/10 games that they feel Killzone 2 deserves to share company with such as Bioshock.
