ziggurcat, how would you see a difference in the textures? If it's 4K resolution textures you won't notice a difference on a 1080p tv/monitor as it can't pic up the extra detail.
Are you watching this on a 4k HDR monitor/TV? If not then you won't notice much difference. PS4 Pro renders it at 1800 (checkerboarding), Xbox one (and S) renders it at 900p.
It was originally supposed to be out around the same time as PSVR in November, and didn't get delayed till quite late on, so April can't seem too early. Beta tests are usually within the last couple of months of development, so if it's only going to be minor tweaks then end of April or early May is surely doable?
What about GT Sport?
HZD reminds me of Shadow of Mordor in the way that it's such a solid and polished new IP and a great game, but at the same time the potentials to push it forward for the sequel are massive.
Definitely agree that more mountable machines would be great, the ones they've done are really cool and just want more.
I think it should be hailed for how well it performs with such good graphics, even the Witcher 3 had massive frame rate issues on release.
Both brilliant games. HZD obviously wins on the graphics by a lightyears, and the combat is awesome. love using the tearblast to knock components off enemies, and the variety in the enemies is great, was blown away by how awesome the Thunderhawk looked when I came face to face with it. Looking forward to trying Zelda if I get a Switch somewhen, but almost feels like it would be a downgrade.
That's not a sentence, but I think I know what you mean. I just picked it up at the weekend for the first time and I'm quite enjoying it, seems like a good exploration game.
Runs pretty stable at 60fps on mine without having to lower it to 1080p. Also looks very smooth without any aliasing issues.
Dare I say it, tempted by No Man's Sky at that price just after the PRO patch has been release, Hitman maybe also.
Lower demand than there used to be for it, plus it's a bitch to optimize a game in split-screen.
This was always going to happen with the size of the install bases.
I'm much happier buying the physical copy of Horizon for £38 and selling it for £25 when I'm done thanks!
No you don't m8
It looks beautiful on my 4k TV, really can't see any aliasing, but then again I don't sit 2 inches away from the screen like the guy who wrote this article. Maybe he got a knock off 4k TV in the black friday sales? It's great that they produced a Pro patch at all, I don't see how you can react so negatively towards it.
These comparisons are pretty much pointless unless you're watching on a 4k HDR enabled tv, and even then the video is compressed and doesn't have HDR on so you can't tell the difference. PS4 Pro games look stunning when you see them in person, the HDR use on Infamous and Ratchet & Clank is brilliant.
didn't really notice any issue with the framerate in Bloodborne
I think it's probably honest. I'd struggle to give it much more from my time on the beta. Very little depth to the game.
I think HZD should get massive credit for the way it performs on console, especially straight from release. The Witcher 3 has some really bad frame rate problems on PS4 on release, and it's still not perfect. As much as I loved the Witcher 3 and put 125 hours+ into it, I'd definitely take HZD as the better combat makes a big difference in the enjoyment. Witcher 3's combat wasn't terrible, but HZD has a lot more depth to it combat wise, you have to approach it more strategicall...
