I wished ea got rid of the season pass for battlefield 1. now i have to wait until the dlcs or the season pass are very cheap before i buy them just like i did with bf4. I really welcome battlefront 2 to have no season pass.

Would love if all publishers would decide to release all maps for free for everyone to avoid seperating the playerbase and wouldn't be bothered if stuff like new weapons and skins are available via microtransactions and also earned ingame money.

Ocelots list was about games you can only play on x1/ ps4 aka exclusive games.

Titanfall was also on pc, same as ryse and gears 4 .

Exclusives are more like good wines. They make a classy dinner out of an ordinary meal.

"Glad ps+pc+switch will forever be the best combo for gamers"
Well i wouldn't go as far as saying it will forever be like this. But as of now this is the ultimate combo for gamers at the moment. The way things are npwadays, Pc renders x1 useless because if all xbox games are on pc there is no need for the box. even if spencer says not all xbox games will be on pc, when you look at ms software output of maybe 3 games a year, does this mean t...

@ munch
I imagine he is talking about pc where this could already be the sad reality the the disc has no further content other than the verification data.

Or he points out that the disc gets fully installed to the console and only THEN serves as a verification that you still got a hold on the disc. Otherwise you could install the game and pass the disc to a friend while still being able to play it.

Edit @videogame:

Xbox /ms heavily lacks of any consistency, so people could just hold on buying the device until they see what they get or don't bother at all where sony could get a legacy bonus(atleast for me it is like that) where gamers blindly have trust in brand until the day sony would make something stupid to lose that trust. This has yet to happen!
In consideration of xbox past one could think at release before making the investment:

Yes imagine your account get's perma banned for some bs reason( not common but it happens sometimes), your games are gone or atleast can not be redownloaded anymore. Hundreds or thousands of $ are burnt.

But you also have to add the fact that playstation/ sony have a track record of delivering quantities of quality game for each console and has yet to disappoint in the games department. Buying a ps guarantees you get boatloads of high profile exclusives once the floodgates are open. And on the hardware side they have yet to deliver a major Fail like the infamous rrod.

Xbox/MS on the other side is more miss than hit, 360 last years were game dryl...

To avoid gameplay that isn't "on glorified rails" it'd be best if they'd make god of war open world........not!!!

I wanted to stay on gaming as a topic but i agree to 100% that's exactly what capitalism is about. Find out what people need or want and/or wake demand in the consumer, then sell them your stuff.

"Game Companies are Leaching Off of Gamer Nostalgia"

Well if i get a good game which hits my nostalgia spots, i'd say go on leeching off me game companies!!
If the product is bad, nostalgia alone won't make me buy the game. It's simple like that

I'm glad if we'd have a renaissance of 3d platformers on consoles other than nintendo's, where the genre have been alive, when on the sony/ms consoles they were nearly ex...

Yes imo that is a very reasonable way to do it. Wait until you see what you get and then buy the pass. But season passes are clearly intended to make consumers pay for stuff they have no knowledge about what they get and i strongly believe that most interested buy it already when the game releases, i don't have any evidence though.

I won't argue with you on your first point. You bought the product used and still use their servers, i don't like it as a consumer but i understand that. But as ea states themselves consumers showed their dislike by voting by not buying said online passes.

But spending money on dlc in advance for a season pass, when you know know nothing about the quality of said dlc is almost the same as preordering a game when you know nothing about the final quality of the game....

Yes it's bullshit but it's the gamers fault for not boycotting it. I mean do you guys remember that last gen there was a time when publishers tried to force us buying a code to be able to play online multiplayer when you purchased a used copy of a game. That thing disappeared so fast that i sometimes even forget it existed, because seemingly and thankfully users didn't fall for that crap. Same would happen with preorder dlc's and season passes in no time.

*Cough* they already are, for decades *Cough*
