I wouldn't go as far and say that gaas MUST DIE, but imho i think they should only be the minority of games.
Especially gow3 has so many epic and memorable boss fights so that it is #1 in my book so far. Really hope that the new gow can even 1up it.

I can't stand it any longer that sony always has to completely destroy and emberras the direct competition with their large amount of high quality masterpieces. At least give them a change to not fail ;-(
The headline is implying that x1x tech is comparable to a multi thousand $ pc, and nx is stating facts on why this is a obvious lie. This isn't about preferences.
How is scorpio a step in the right path? It's more like three steps in the wrong direction. The main problem with x1 is that they are focussing too much on features (bc, crossplay....) or in x1x's case, in power rather than using their billions into building an attractive catalogue of quality games for a wider audience. There are not that many xbox fans around so the main goal should be: cater to your loyal fans AND reach new consumers that aren't interested in what xbox as a bran...
You are wrong. There might be a small proportion of gamers who care about having the console where their games look and perform best on. But the majority has other things they look for(price etc) Otherwise standard ps4 wouldn't sell anymore, pro sales would have skyrocketed and all xbox fans would have bought a ps4 instead of an x1 at the start of the gen and would own a pro since november 2016, because you know those two were the consoles where games looked and ran best on since 2013. ^^...

Based on spencers vision for the gaming industry, I'd be worried about my fav hobby if more and more gamers other than xboys would suddenly embrace microsofts xbox business strategy rather than showing their disapproval by not buying an x1 console.

I wanted to get an xbox later down the road because i counted on it will get better by time. But it only got worse and worse so i think i won't get an x1 at all reading what spencer vision for the brand looks like. Maybe next time then. It's sad because og xbox blew me away at the time, 360 was quite worth owning once rrod was solved. But with x1 there is literally nothing that makes me want to buy the console

Phil knows that most consumers will still opt for ps4(or pro) because that is where their friends will probably be on in most cases, and by allowing crossplay he could catch a few more gamers who would on one sid...
Sony showed alot of their own awesome games. Ms show mainly consisted of advertising games you can also play on ps4.
Xbox will never be a real competitor for sony again unless the don't change their attitude about games in general.
The only time the could come near sony was when people were starving for a next gen console because the old gen lasted so long and they were able to get at 1 1/2 year headstart by rushing a faulty product to the market.
Nowadays with midgen upgrades and shorter gens in gerneral the majority just wait for the next playstation or nintendo c...
Maybe then he could get some advices from konami on how to make money in that business^^

With the way phil handles xbox i believe either his job as the head of xbox or xbox at a whole will come to an end.
The best games are singleplayer games. Maybe he should invest in making an actually good singleplayer game than they it would sell. Look at nintendo's and sony's singleplayer games. They sell well and that is not because they are rushed out low quality games, it's because the are actually fun playing. Phil just shows that he isn't the right man at the top of the xbox division, maybe he shouldn't work in the gaming business at all.
