I'm a huge uncharted fan but i would rather naughty gods use their incredible talent to create a brand new ip and let uncharted rest until next gen at least.

You really can't compare the two.

Spiderman target audience are the gamers who are looking for a polished high quality experience with a worldwide recognized and beloved comic book and movie protagonist.

The other game you refered to is targeted towards the gamer who doesn't mind paying full price for a low budget game with dull gameplay and outdated graphics

Oh yes they should. Would be a good start for a broader xbox portfolio. Ofcourse it should be high quality games.

That was what i was thinking when i read the title. The author must have some kind of time machine

But their gaming division(we are on a gaming related site mind you) is much less worth then ms as a whole.

PapaBop ofcourse they make a lot more money in mp.

In mp you don't have to pay for story writing and less voice actors, face capturing etc etc, all the things you have to pay for when doing a sp game. Ofcourse the mp model is more attractive for devs. They have to invest less and make more money out of it with microtransactions and map/ weapon packs.

Exclusives don't matter. It's all about power, network and 150$ controllers.

It is domination though! 2:1 in xbox STRONGEST market while in other places it's 3:1 or even 4:1. That's insane

It's because ms/ spencer is the king of liars and hyperbolic pr statements so it's more incredible that still some people believe him.

No it's a business decision. Even if the install base is 30 million, if the target audience who are actually interested in these certain games isn't there or so small, then it doesn't justify the cost of porting the game to release on xbox.
And this isn't the fault of the publishers, it's on MS. For roughly a decade they have done their utmost to attract a userbase with a extremly narrow taste in game genres.

Yes. I think videogames are always 3 to 4 gens behind when it comes to visual. It should be common sense that there is a vast difference between a movie which gets animated on some kind of super computer, achieved with state of the art tech and a videogame which has to be rendered in real time by an ordinary consumer product, let it be high to low end pcs or consoles, it doesn't matter.

But videogames have come a long way indeed. When i think about how amazing for examp...

I gave up hope a long time ago and i fear they will do the same with future gtas. With gta online Rockstar has an insanely profitable cashcow on their hands, so they don't want to draw away potential buyers of shark cards from online by releasing an addon for the sp. As a mainly sp gamer at least i can say they gave us an awesome singleplayer in the first place, but i don't welcome that they shifted their attention to mp after release.

"Do we really need the last of us part 2?"

The article may also ask:
Do we really need videogames?
Do we really need consoles or gaming pcs?

What they should ask is "do we want it?" instead of "do we need it?". We don't need the last of us 2. there are plenty of other game to be released sooner or later.

For me the last of us was a great game (for quite a few it even seems to be one of...

"Would I kill single player games? Absolutely. I'm not sure why some people believe a single player game that offers co-op or multiplayer options takes away from the single player experience."

Tinkering a worthwile mp wastes money and work that could be invested in the singleplayer experience.

In addition don't you think cod's battefield's and the all the other generic crap campaigns wouldn't be better if the devs would sole...

"So then Sony is willing to face the challenges and Microsoft is not. Why then did the latter bother to enter the industry? It seems Microsoft wants the money but does not want to do the work or take the risk."

It's obivious that ms is in 1 the console business for 1. to make a quick buck out of gamers without investing too much in actual games and 2. to enter people's living rooms for multimedia purposes, which battle the imo already lost against android...

Read my comments again. I would never state that sony is a mp juggernaut, that would be delusional to the fullest. They are clearly focused on sp experience with some mp from time to time. But as the big publishers like ea activision and co. are focused on competitive and cooperative mp games, playstation is also a play for the mp focused gamer.

On the other side people saying "if you prefer mp games you should chose xbox". Imho this is...
