Genre's that Consoles are typically strongest in, comparatively, PC's are weak in.
Fighting, Sports, and racing.
For example, If there's one sport you would figure that computers would be on par or better in, it would be Baseball. I was shocked to find out that the best Baseball in on consoles...the PS3 in fact. Baseball being a very "stat oriented" game, it's a near travesty for that sport.

For some reason I just never really got around to playing much of it...almost none. It wasn't a bad game, I just haven't played it.
Now, I have a bit more incentive to play and beat it now. :)
Gearbox, a smaller developer than Valve, who develops games across all three platforms, is showing that Valve's "we are small and don't have the resources" stance is really just a ruse.
Now these guys, SPLASH DAMAGE, are even smaller than both, and they are developing across 3 platforms. This tells you that Valve has been full of "you know what" this whole time, likely because they get incentives to develop for XBOX 360, and there really isn't anything wrong ...

Is that all those broken XBOX's cost A HEAPING TON of money.
They've blown through that 1 BILLION DOLLARS (that they supposedly put aside) LOOOONG ago. I think they've nearly hit 2 billion, if they haven't hit it already. And the worst part is, They aren't even nearly done, those broken XBOX's seem to have no end in sight.
Much of that money that they've made on XBOX LIVE has been eaten up by egregious failure rate costs.

I however will give my last reason and take on why I feel it's possible for FF7 to go to XBOX and why Sony would be smart to make it happen.
First, there are a couple of PS1 games on XBOX LIVE, Castlevania "Symphony Of The Night", for example, So that establishes that there is a market and ability, in terms of porting.
Second, Sony has established a willingness and aptitude to publish games on XBOX ...
@Jager, I don't think you understood my question in context. When I ask "WHY", I already know FF7 is a Sony AND Square product with Sony having control over said product (not sure about FF8 though).
I already know about the "tradition" of first and/or second party games staying native to their respective "born" platforms/brands. But I'm looking for a more palatable response than just "BECAUSE ITS TRADITION"....and I'm still waiting for answer. ...
FF7 was on the PC.
FF8 was as well...that 1 I had to look up though.
So I pose the same question to you too, NiteX ....Why? Why can these games NEVER go to XBOX 360/XBOX LIVE.
I'm looking for a reasonable and logical explaination, other than just "its tradition".

This whole generation, I've been watching these games and all the back biting and bickering between them...hell, I'm a PS3 owner and participate in it myself...what can I say, it's fun, kinda like FORD vs CHEVY arguments.
At anyrate, it occured to me that a large part of the reason we fight, is because we are jealous of what the "other team" has. How many of us Single console PS3'ers would have liked to play Gears Of War? How many of us would have appreciated Splinte...
If FF7 and FF8 Do go to XBOX 360/XBOX LIVE as HHG has said,

Trust me....I'd breeze through that SNES game in a few hours.
I just choose to treat devs/titles that treat me well, in kind....that's all.

So now this old school games comes to my doorstep A WHOLE YEAR LATE, and I'm now supposed to jump at the chance to play this "ground breaking"(not really) product, in spite of all the other latest and greatest thrill rides on the market that DID have the decency to cater to me ON TIME?

How are PS3 vs. XBOX 360 debates/arguments any different from Mets vs. Yankees, Raiders vs. 49ers, or even Chevy vs. Ford?
People argue these because they are passionate about these said topics, and who are you to begrudge these people their fun and/or entertainment in this area?
So how are consoles any different?
