Why's that a big freakin deal?
I was thinking the game would probably do better to release closer to BLACK FRIDAY.
This is Sony's premiere game of the entire year, so a BF day release would probably render more maximized potential.
Is Microsoft's games studios, XBOX 360, and the division that houses it has a budget too. Microsoft doesn't have an unlimited supply of money to throw at it. Microsoft's main source of revenue is WINDOWS and computer software, and even in that universe they are having a hard time competing against newer competition upstarts like GOOGLE and FACEBOOK.
The point is, Microsoft clearly has a limited budget or they wouldn't have closed down ENSEMBLE, ACES, DIGI...
Very true story.
The Beer I mean.
;)
Game never looked like a winner to me.
*shrug*
especially not if the PS3 ends up with the best version of the game.
.
They nerfed recon guns a bit and at the same time they made the crates worth more points....more than double, so what ends up happening is most recons tend to be in the lower half and quarter bottom of the points.
I started with ASHERONS CALL back in 1999. I played it off and on for years.
I played WoW at launch for 1 year...Guild Wars off and on for a couple years.
I've tried Star Wars Galaxies, Ultima Online, City Of Villians/Heroes, Eve Online...but I didn't play long.
I haven't really played an MMORPG for a couple years, but I do have a pretty long stint and history with them.
I was playing WoW about a month after release, and I remember it quite well.
WoW did have issues, especially outages in the beginning with crappy customer service...But WoW had perhaps the greatest begin game I have ever seen. Hell, that's how they hook you in in the first place. It was a very fun and well made game with its play mechanics and gameplay...especially on a PVP server.
It was the End Game that sucked. 1-59 was great, but once you hit 60......
and assuming you spend a significant amount of time playing said game, that's enough time to get a good feel for the game....You know if you're having fun or not.
I realize MMO's can change over time, but if you release a rushed and/or unfinished game, well...it is what it is and you get graded upon it.
2 weeks of 2-5 hours a day is good enough time.
But basically,
I actually think BFBC2's single player was a bit of a let down.
I liked the co-characters, but it did seem pretty run of the mill and it was short. I had fun with it, but it really could have been better.
MW2's multiplayer was crap to me though. When my 10 year old nephew sat in a bedroom with a claymore in the door and went 18-0, then next round went 15-0, I knew it was a joke.
Not bad :)

But Uncharted has platform and Puzzle elements...nor is Uncharted Sci Fi.
So like if Portal 2 has DLC, will it be free on the PS3 via its version of Steam and the PC version of Steam, and then will people have to pay for it on XBOX LIVE?
I can't wait to find out.....should be fun....at least here on N4G. lol
See you all then.
*wink*
That's a bit of a problem.
Games with no multiplayer tend to get the "rental status" from me, unless time goes by and I'm able to get said game for $20 later on.
I think it's completely fair and relevant to compare the 2 against each other.
Gran Turismo franchise has drawn that type of fanfare in the past.
Even the car manufacturers take Gran Turismo seriously.
What's wrong with that?
There are lots of products that launch during the week of Black Friday.
