I own the game....
It plays fine.....has for years.
No new consoles until 2012-2013......minimum.
World economy dictates this. People are out of work and struggling to pay their freakin cable bills.

I've noticed there are many parallels of the video game industry to that of the music industry.
When a label alots a budget for an artist-musician (an advance), that whole budget includes advertisement, and for obvious reasons, they don't give the artist all of the money in the budget, because while they probably would finish the album, they'd also spend it all on hookers and coke and wouldnt have enough for the marketing and ads.

They are virtually the pinnacle of the Movie Industry...music Industry, have their hand in Television, Hollywood Studio's...
They make TV's, Radios, probably toaters too....

Cross Game chat seems like a TEENY BOPPER feature, and I'm not that lonesome for conversation that I have to talk to other people while I'm scoring touchdowns....
You are describing a direct lobby-party chat.
Cross game chat implies chatting between different games.
I do admit that a type of "lobby chat" would be useful but I have no use for CROSS GAME CHAT.
The latter would be equiv. to someone talking during my movie.....

I actually owned that version (got it free from my job) and not only can I attest FIRST HAND that the game (PS1 version) was good....
But all the magazines gave it good scores too. EGM gave it an 8.5 and 8.0.
I know you wanna hate consoles and everything, but, respectfully, you should balance the hate with some truth...at least a little.
