I'd personally like more games to become multiplatform. $$$ paid exclusives are killing the game scene in my opinion.
But multiplatformers should be developed the way Kojima said: to every console with enough dedication. Not just by porting.
I think Lair is still work in progress due to some time 2007? In practise it means it's gonna look better later.

That's a good move from MS. The only way to get better and better games is to buy them. I'm sure the checkups will be finalized so that false bannings will sease to exist.

You are correct, in principal it is just like that. But there are companies who do things with some philosophy, committing to something to accomplish something bigger. It's mainly up to visionaries that can convince the bo$$es.
Windows: OS/2 ripoff, Word: a WordPerfect ripoff, Internet Explorer: a Netscape ripoff, Xbox: a PS2 ripoff, Zune: an iPod ripoff, Xboy: a GameBoy ripoff. Where the hell is Microsoft's innovativity?? Sold away for $$$??

Why are you talking about $600? As an Xbox guy you should be fine with $499 model.
Doing a player - why not. Doing a player that is free of bugs and all those little inconveniences - a tough thing to do.
Sony has got a ton of experience in that area because of their home electronics background, MS gotta work their way in if they're gonna really compete.

Pnly available price information of Cell based computers is 8000 USD for an 180 GFLOPS Cell mini-computer. That will be most likely many grands for any Cell based server. Sounds like a breaktru to me if you'll get a console/PC with same CPU for 499 USD.

I used to think so too but we've seen only incomplete games. Now it would seem that those goals are actually being met. Motorstorm has constantly improved since today and look at the results now from PS3 site. I think the same goes for Killzone, Warhawk etc. E5 demos were not played with the hardware but were done based on the calculated performance on PS3.
It's sad to hear Assassins' Creed get stomped to the ground like this.
I have a feeling it's a victim and a leftover of a war between Sony and MS. Something happened there leaving burned bridges or they just lost support from either if not both sides.
Possibly Sony got pissed first when they did not reach agreement on timed exclusive and MS followed when they could not claim the exclusivity? Pure speculation.

What slows down Xbox 360 is that it's getting obsolete much sooner than PS3. For example the old IDE HDD with expensive proprietary design vs standard 2.5" SATA in PS3, the DVD vs Blu-Ray storage, network ports - 100M vs 1000M and of course the Cell vs Xenos. Buyers are afraid MS will let them down by releasing a new model sooner than expected leaving them with obsolete model.

I've noticed scriptkiddie clicking "lame" on every news with word PS3 in it. The purpose of the voting is to tell whether the news concerns you and if it does do you think it's cool or lame. It's not meant to be the voice of your childish anti-PS3 campaign or whatever.
