Now now, DNF was announced in late April, 1997. That's almost 12 years ago.
Could be just that reason, they wanted to show two insted of one.
Despite popular belief, these companies in it for the money first, destroying their evil arch nemesis (or whatever relation people think they have with eachother) second.
If Sony sees (long-term) profit from allowing Microsoft to use Blu-ray, they will probably allow it. Likewise, Microsoft would use Blu-ray for the same reasons, even if having to pay a fee to Sony.
Turning 720º would mean you turn around twice, all the way around, and end up still facing the same direction, doesn't it?
Edit: I assume the disagree means that I am wrong in my assumption. Please explain why, if my math is way off, I'd like to know.
I think I might be playing games too much, I read the title as Critical (massive / double damage) Mass (Covering a big area / Lots of) Hands On.
In other words, Duke Nukem: HANDS ON!!!
A bit scary now that I think about it.
The thing is that even cliffhanger endings can be done properly.
It doesn't really matter if it is a cliffhanger ending, an "and they all lived happily ever after" (or not) ending, where they explain what happens to the individual characters after the game ends, or any other type of ending, as long as it is done right both in the context and execution wise.
I think they misplaced the hyphen, and actually meant to write "Gears of War 2-level announcements", implying a big announcement.
Still beyond me how completely obvious sequel announcements are big, but that's just the way it is I guess.
Or people hit by cosmic rays emitted by their consoles due to over-exposure and gained amazing flaming powers. Then they saw their beloved exclusives killed (meta-critic scores) by the other corporations and now they are out to punish the guilty.
Sort of like the human torch and the punisher combined, just not.
Well, it would make sense, considering how disappointed many were with the campaign ending (assuming this will continue from there). Lots of people are hyped for the third fallout DLC for that same reason, among other things.
I really wish developers would spend more time with the endings though, a good story needs a proper ending, because no matter how good the parts that come before are, the ending is the final impression, and a poor one can really leave a bitter after-taste.
Advertisement and publicity is aimed at the sub-concious, not the concious level. Sure, on a concious level, these guys are only trash talking each other and making themselves looking bad, but the sub-concious, which picks up everything, is getting constantly bombarded with repetition of whatever products these guys are promoting, no matter what the context is.
Ever noticed how billboard advertisement, if done properly, almost exclusively consists of two or more identical posters...
Take a look around, like on N4G for example, flame wars provide massive attention for games. The companies are very well aware of this, and they constantly throw a bit of fuel on the flame now and then, to make sure it keeps going.
I'm afraid the good old saying "There is not such thing as bad publicity" has yet to cease being true.
Pretty much always been a forum. Some proper news do sneak in from time to time however.
Outsourcing the outsourcing, anything for a bit of extra revenue, former employees and local economy be damned.
But hey, I guess EA are still cool, since they still publish a decent game now and then, right?
Not saying this necessarily applies to you, but many addicts are not really consciously aware of their addictions, or at least they do not view them as such.
The word "addiction" is usually only labelled upon socially unacceptable conditions, but it is fully possible to be addicted to things like exercising, a certain type of food (not necessarily a "bad" food), even social acceptance.
Most people have some sort of addiction, however insignificant...
Can everyone agree on that silly PR statements like this one only serve as flame-bait and are in no way news worthy?
Would save N4G from a lot of spam, and some hits, but an acceptable sacrifice in order to obtain some level of decency that this site could otherwise have.
Simply, there is seemingly nothing to be won here. Well, there is, but it is not a pleasant path to thread.
Why spend time on some self-reflection when you can simply make everyone else look worse, because they (a company they buy toys* from, in truth) lost on last months sales or game meta-scores.
*Yes, games and consoles are toys, nothing wrong with toys, but that's what they are.
Does this mean that all wiis will have both a gpu and a cpu? Amazing news!
Yes, very much agreed.
I played Dungeon Keeper 1 and 2 again not so long ago, and I still find the graphics in those games very pleasing, because it captures the atmosphere so perfectly. Games like Mario Galaxy, Fable 2 and LBP are also other great examples of this.
Graphics (the art in truth) do hold games together, but only if there is something to hold in the first place.
Makes it all the better if it is the cover story. Then they can give some real info after the joke if they are feeling generous.
Hmm yes, the "put it on 360" comment was quite silly when they had no reason not to say "360/PS3".
And being best does in no way hinder something from becoming better. Better than what it currently is, not better than other things, which it obviously already is.
