mario is good and technically this is a good Mario. but this game in particular is soulless. a step backwards for the franchise

That aside, the current gen is superficial. There has been no real advance to gameplay in videogames since perhaps the PlayStation/N64 era where we saw the move from 2D to 3D.
In essence, all of these games, red dead included are merely glorified PS1 era games with a new luck of paint.
It seems the industry just wait for Nintendo to bring about the next innovat...
what would be awesome is those games actually being playable. bits of data buried deep within the code is not whoah or wow... just meh.
if these games were playable sony would not hesitate to shout from the rooftops they were part of the included line-up. ie they wouldn't hide them deep in code and instead decide to launch a product consisting of 80percent crap fillers.

no, idiot, it is not a relaunch of the ps1, its just a 'cool' collectable item for gamers. its not literally a mini playstation.
The game is download only. they fool you buy offering a physical retail version with a disc, but really, the disc merely acts as a pass for the download.

a game should be enjoyable, but fun is a very specific thing.
I mean, I would say Mario kart is fun, and gran turismo is not fun, does that make gran turismo the lesser game? no, its just a game trying to create a different experience.
I wouldn't describe silent hill as fun, but I doubt silent hill was ever intended to be fun. it might not be fun but its immersive, gripping, intriguing, etc its more about creating an experience.
