Yes, in 1998 re2 was considered almost practically photorealistic.. I mean, it did have photos.
It's only now we can truly see how God awful it looks and the photo backdrops were almost incomprehensible.
In 20 years time, this remake will look like a joke too. It is the best of what we have now, but we literally don't know any better.
This game in particular is unanimously agreed to be a jumbled, impenetrable and incoherent mess of storytelling. No amount of hype or nostalgia for Disney or Pixar is going to change that.

true other games such as god of war 3 have a scene or two which are of a sexual nature, but its not strictly an adult title.

It seems there is a lot more explicit games content on n4g than there was even just 2 year ago. I see articles about adult games all the time now. Like it's mainstream.
I don't know if that's just a change in the times? Ease of importing? The ease of downloading what was formally an almost exclusively 'foreign thing...' or if its direct reaction to the suppression of adult content. Meaning gamers have become more interested in it?

Retro take notoriously long to develop games. It takes them like an entire generation just to produce a side scrolling donkey Kong game, let alone a deep and emersive sprawling first person shooter that will be required for prime 4.
And what have retro even been doing the last 5 years? Are we just expecting to believe they are dropping what they are doing and producing prime 4 solely...
