i dont think any console in history has won a country before. usually it takes a lengthy bombing campaign from the air followed by a ground invasion, but the X1 managed to win the UK and the entire continent of Australia with retail sales alone.

its literally confirmation that the switch wont receive current gen games in all their glory. which in turn, practically means less 3rd party support.
last gen games will be fine. the switch is going to be a dumping ground for ports of last gen games, shovelware, and severely gimped versions of current gen games
