lets be honest, if nintendo released a branded house brick, they would sell millions of them.
some people will buy anything nintendo. a major console release from nintendo will always sell millions, initially. but the question is, whether or not it will sell to anyone other than nintendo fans.
but put it this way- im a nintendo fan, and even i am having a hard time justifying buying one at its current price
i agree, colour cases look cheap and tacky. its better to have a neutral colour.
there is nothing worse than having a (say) resident evil game in a toy blue case. it ruins the package.

the only reason why he and nintendo keep referring to it as a console is because their other handheld, the 3ds, is still selling. if they market the switch as a handheld- which is what it is, it would be in direct competition with the 3ds. ie it would hurt 3ds sales.

i wouldnt be surprised if they make a virtual console app that must be purchased on your phone, in order to access the virtual console on the switches network.

ther's something about the switch version that looks less impressive. yes it looks sharper, more detailed, but it also looks more unnatural. for example in the scene looking over the landscape, the wiiu version has a greater sense of depth and atmosphere. the switch version in comparison looks empty, like there is no air.
it might just be my prejudice against handhelds, but im still cynical that the switch is even as powerful as a wiiu. i dont understand why nintendo do...
nobody will play the switch in public.
most people will just play it in bed, so will probably have it plugged in anyway.

im expecting another pre recorded video with a show-reel of every game we have already seen. i mean, as if they are going to announce new titles in a few months time when they could have announced them at the switch reveal to make a bigger impact.

i always liked the classic zelda art they always used for the games, just the logo on a plain background, then a gold cart/disc/case. made it look important, serious, epic...

actually, he could be right that mario is complete and nintendo are simply sitting on it. nintendo were NEVER going to release mario and zelda at launch- they would compete with eachother for sales. obviously nintendo want to maximise profits for each title.
i predicted months priorr to launch that mario would never launch the switch with zelda. but hey, its just common sense. i also predicted they would launch with other 'lesser' games, these turned out to be 1-2 s...
