i mean, the playstation is a permanent fixture. the xbox is a permanent fixture. you know the next sony console is going to be a playstation.. what that means is sony have established a brand that the consumer can trust and identify with. same for microsoft with the xbox.

mario 64 was a monumental, revolutionary, historic game. even if the n64 launched with 30 games, the only game people would be buying, playing or remember, would be mario 64.
the switch only has 1-2 switch. NO! zelda doesnt count! its a wiiu game. its like launching the super nintendo with super mario 3. its a nes title no matter how good it is. scavenging games from a last gen system and attempting to pass them off as launch titles is not impressive

i dont think its a temporary solution. if you remember the patents, they referred to 'supplemental computing devices' .. ie the switch would connect to other devices to 'enhance' its features.
there was a lot of speculation about what that meant at the time, but now its clear (to me at least,) that this is what they meant. your mobile is the supplemental device for chat, matchmaking, lobbies and god knows what other idiotic features
i think you should be satisfied that EA are willing to give the switch even one game at this point. it reveals something though- EA dont have much faith in the switch. they are gambling, but not putting all their chips on the table.
the problem is, i can predict that it wont be much of a success, neither commercially or critically, because like always, they will produce a gimped version of their flagship fifa ps4/x1 titles for nintendo.
