All I got to say to Ubisoft is a big F-YOU! There is a reason people buy Ferrari's just as there is a reason people like to build $2000 PC's. We WANT THE VERY BEST. At least Ferrari does not give a damn about people that drive Honda Fits, that go crying like little babies because their cars cannot match the performance of the Ferrari because they cater to the ENTHUSIASTS, that want the raw power.
I hate to break your bubble Ubisoft, but equality DOES NOT exist in this...
Nice troll fail there buddy. You don't actually own a PC. You are a consoler trying to "prove" a point with hardware selection you made up to make consoles seem better than they are. The hardware you selected would not cost in total of $1300. Try again.............
Read post 47. Also, I use an i7-3930K. So, if you honestly think this CPU will need upgrading in 5 years time, then you need to have your head examined!! An i7-3930K still outperforms the best MANTLE optimized game that can bring AMD's weaker CPU's up to par to mid range Intel i5's by removing overhead, but the i7's still command a SIGNIFICANT lead in performance, and that's with poorly optimized Directx 11 code!!! I think you need to learn a bit more about PC hardware and...
That says a lot about you, Mr. one bubble boy.
Whoever brings up these stupid articles on N4G is an obvious troll. Why would any half DECENT PC gamer be stupid enough to build a gaming PC for $400?????? Are we trying to build a Wal-Mart ghetto machine??
Also, only a graphics whore would update their PC every four years. I still use the HD7970 video card and do not lag with all the latest games. I never upgrade unless I feel the performance will impact my game play experience, and so far, I have not experienced any proble...
opps, meant to add this message to the bottom, not as a reply to a person. ignore...
We PC guys need them so we can figure out how well our video cards can produce beautiful graphics when pushed to the limits. No other game engines push video cards to these limits with photo realistic image quality. Crysis 3 on PC pretty much had the best graphics that I have seen out of all the other games I have played so far on PC.
If you READ CAREFULLY, then you would have realized that the UBIsoft developer started the fight first with false claims. What did you expect??
Then that jack face should not have ran his mouth that Farcry 4 on console is equivalent to ultra setting on PC. That has to be the dumbest thing anyone has every said that no amount of face palms would be enough for.
People should not attack the platform with false claims if they don't want to receive backlash. Simple as that.
Got something interesting for us PC guys. AMD is awesome for doing this. Now if only nvidia would stop being a-holes.

"Above all, Mantle will present developers with a powerful shortcut to DirectX® 12, as the lingual similarities between APIs will make it easy to port a Mantle-based render backend to a DirectX® 12-bas...
You do realize that Mantle will be similar to DX12, right? So just play with Mantle for a while until you are ready for DX12.
Herre is a white paper from AMD: http://community.amd.com/co...
Don't be foolish into thinking that a console will outperform or even come close a PC that has a something like an Intel i7-3930K in it with an AMD R9-290X video card.
The weak i3's and low model number i5's will be matched by console's that use optimization, but these consoles stand no chance against Intel i7 processors, even if the code on PC is not optimized. Power is power, and nothing can help something that has a significant gap in power level to someth...
Because Mantle from AMD walks all over DirectX12. DX12 is Microsoft's counter to AMD's Mantle API.
@LamerTamer You might want to know what you are talking about first before saying the un-optimization for the PC means we are at disadvantage, because that is not quite true.
On high end PC's, to the metal does nothing because the processors used are very powerful. Mantle, by AMD, has proved this. Weak processors get the big boost, but the powerful ones like Intel's i7-series see very little gains in performance because how powerful the CPU's are. It follows the law ...
This has come first: http://n4g.com/news/1518418...
This is just a repeat and needs to be removed..
The sad part is that the AMD R9-295X2 destroys this $3,000 garbage bag for only half the price. Nvidia had delayed, delayed, and delayed this card because it got owned in price and performance by AMD's R9-295X2.
Nvidia fanboys are blind though, and will consider this card the seconding coming of Christ.....just you watch and see...
I'll give you a hint: no specific hardware is targeted on PC for games. There is this little thing called DirectX, that does all the work for the developer. All they have to do is decide how detailed the texture assets should be and other factors that can determine what video cards can handle it, not actually program FOR specific video cards.
I suggest you download a game engine such as Unity, Unreal 4, or Cryengine to see what I am talking about. No special code is used...
Sigh.......The ignorance on here about PC's is astounding to say the least.
Let me break it down for you guys that are not part of the PC scene: TO THE METAL OPTIMIZATIONS DO NOT BENEFIT BALANCED PC'S AT ALL, BUT WILL BENEFIT UNBALANCED PC's.
What do I mean by a balanced PC? I mean that if the person who understands bottlenecks knows how to properly select the right processor for the right video card, then the video card will be 100% utilized AT A...
Its an API that translates code into a language that the video card can understand using the CPU as the translator. If the API is poorly written then the CPU or "translator" will have to work very hard just to convert the game graphics code into code that the video card understands. With DX12 the burden on the CPU AKA "the translator", is reduced significantly such that it can do more translations without having to work as hard.
However, very high end CPU&...
