You will still be screwed going the PC route. The scalpers have bought up all the newest video cards and newest CPU's. We are getting screwed just as bad as console people are.

Us PC guys are suffering too. The damn scalpers keep buying up all the new video cards from AMD and Nvidia and all the new CPU's from AMD. Scalping SHOULD BE ILLEGAL. They use bots to buy these products. No human can beat a bot. Scalping would be okay if actual people do the buying, but with bots, it's no longer capitalism. I don't care what some of you say. If I was playing in a chess tournament against another player and that player was using a bot instead of actually playing, i...

I agree. Its only 8 more CU's compared to the Xbox Series X that is just $499 and will have optimizations. That's why in my opinion, the 6800XT is the sweet spot for PC gaming. The 6800 should have been $449 to $499 at most.

I going to upgrade to the 6800XT for my PC. The 6800 just does not make sense because of the Xbox series X and console optimizations that make that card look way over priced.. But I'm just stating that the games being on PC also will not cause loss in console sales. Cause at $499 for a complete system is pretty good. The CPU is decent too and not that crap laptop CPU found in the PS4 and Xbox one. So this Gen is looking good for consoles versus a high to med level gaming PC, I know it so...

And best part is the Xbox series X has 52 CU's and is only $499, but the announced 6800 GPU from AMD is 60 CU's and costs $579 for JUST the video card. It's obvious that the console is the better choice.

For all of you saying this will cause console people to flock to the PC are dead wrong. AMD just announced their latest video cards, and the lowest priced, the 6800 is $579 with 60 compute units that's faster than an Nvidia 2080ti!! That's only 8 more compute units compared to the Xbox series X, which is a COMPLETE system that can play games for just $499 with slightly less or equal performance to the 2080ti. That's just insane in my book. As a PC player, it looks like console has...

AWW man this is terrible news for consolers:

OH man!! Even more terrible news.

More PS games coming to PC
https://www.pcgamer.com/son...

Microsoft giving the option for you poor console plebs to still play their games since you guys are too poor to afford to build a powerful pc. Sony plebs are too poor to have options. Consoles are their only hope.

Sony fanboys are WOKE people. LOL. They got angry when Quantic Dream games came to PC. So many felt betrayed. ROFLOL!!!! 🤣🤣🤣 29315;🤣🤣And now its nothing but radio silence from them about Quantic Dreams games being the best on PS4 once it came to PC.😂😂😂 😂 I'd laugh so hard if all the PS5 games came to PC too. Man the tears from them will be glorious!

PCIE-4.0 NvME drives have been out for a while now and are only getting better. Samsung will release a 980 pro that will demolish the PS5, BUT the PS5 has the ASIC that decompresses Kraken data to 22GB/s, which gives it the upper hand in gaming assets that need to be streamed over, other than that, it's no better than PC.If you had watched the tech event from Cerny you would have know this........ Also PC gamers don't buy a PC, they BUILD A PC. Only fake posers buy pre built garbage P...

The PS5 has a custom asic that decompresses Kraken data from 5GB/s to 22GB/s, other than that, anything else DOES NOT decompress. Anyone who actually watched the tech event from Cerny would know this......... It's no faster than PC's that have PCI-E 4.0, which are all AMD 3000 series CPU's that use 500 series (X570 or B550) motherboards. Only Intel is still stuck on PCI-E 3.0. More and more people are leaving Intel garbage and coming over to AMD, so it's only a matter of time ...

When console players get angry that their precious "exclusive" is coming to PC, they say things like: "When 99% of pc games are garbage they embrace a true masterpiece". Cry more little baby. I love them console fanboy tears.🤣🤣ԍ 15; Sony will make more profits on PC now that they saw how well this game sold. 😂😂😂 28514;

I think Crytek needs to make a console version and a high end PC version that requires a 1070 super or better video card as the MINIMUM requirement for PC. PC is suppose to be Ferrari's, not Honda Accords. That's the job of consoles. That is why the original Crysis looks so good because it only pushed for high end PC hardware ONLY, which this game should do the same instead of low level crap PC's or we end up with crap cartoon look.😒😒

Those of you who keep saying that games on PC are catering to hard drives don't have a clue what you are talking about. The hard drive has been a dead technology in PC gaming for about 10 years now. Everyone I know, and I, who have a PC all use NVME SSD's, which are about the size of a piece of gum that plugs in the motherboard M2 slot. The speeds are anywhere from 2.5 GB/s with 3.0 interfaces with Intel systems to 5 GB/s for NVME with 4.0 interfaces with AMD 3000 series systems. The ...

That's a pleb machine, not a gaming one. For anyone that wants to build their first PC, that is a real gaming machine for newbs to PC gaming, then this is the build I recommend for good price/per ratio for 1080P:

Ryzen 3600 non X $180
MSI B450 Pro-VDH MAX motherboard $80
16 GB FlareX F4-320014D-16GFX Ram $120
Samsung 500GB 970 EVO Nvme M2 SSD $88
CORSAIR CX-M Series CX650M 650W 80 PLUS $80
AMD RX570 video card $120

Sony could just create their own digital store front and get a cut of the sales the same way Steam does on PC. So whether it would affect their console sales is mute. Those who don't want a gaming PC or care to learn/build one for gaming will still buy a console, regardless.

On the cpu side there is no specific instructions on these x86 consoles that set it apart from pc and when i mean to the metal for pc, I mean the instructions for the cpu. The gpu has the api layer, yes. Lots of pc games directly access the SIMD hardware on the cpu itself or the hardware randomizer like destiny 2 does. I had games crash simply because my cpu was too old and only had sse2 simd hardware.

They still get some of your money when you buy their games for PC, so how did you screw them by going to PC?? I don't get it.

2202d ago 1 agree1 disagreeView comment

I don't think it would because very few people will spend the money on a gaming PC or have the know how to build one. Consoles are the perfect solution to this problem. Of course people who already have a gaming PC will discard their consoles, but the games sales gives profits to Sony and MS. Steam gets a a cut from all game sales. There is nothing stopping Sony from wanting to compete against Steam.

You couldn't be more wrong. Wow. Yes, the PS3 and earlier model consoles was closed systems that only had specific hardware instructions that developers could write the game code for since the hardware was custom designed down to the very transistor level. However, THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE WITH PS4 OR NEWER CONSOLES THAT USE X86 CPU's VS PC X86 CPU.. The cpu has all the EXACT same hardware decoders, FPU units, and ALU's. What stops windows or linux from working on those consoles is ...
