HEY THAT'S WHAT EVERYONE WAS SAYING ABOUT THE WII U. People were complaining about the Wii U's lack of games when it was a month old.
At the Wii U launch, everyone was like "IT HAS NO GAMES". and the Nintendo fans were like "it's only been out for a month"
(Then later, during the Wii U games drought, it actually got bad...So, yeah hopefully Sony and Microsoft avoid that)

As a Nintendo fan, here's what I have to say.
Reggie and Nintendo messed up. They had no games ready. But that doesn't make what they said wrong.
"You need games" is true. The fact is, Wii U needs games. It's first year was terrible, but it's getting a bit better -> Pikmin 3, Rayman legends, Wind Waker, Super Mario 3D World.
And what else is Reggie supposed to say anyways? He has to stay positive. I think it was ...
But X deserves to be announced at E3 or a Nintendo Direct or actually any other gaming show besides VGX. Basically, not VGX.

I'm glad SSB, X, or Zelda wasn't shown at VGX. Those series deserve SO MUCH BETTER.
Reggie didn't hype it up that much, it was the internet that did that.
Also, it's interesting that Nintendo is getting this much publicity over this. In the long run, i wonder if it's good or bad. I mean, this happened to the Xbox One with Microsoft's reveal, and it looks like X1 will do fine anyway.

What Reggie says is true. Without games your gaming hardware is nothing. Nintendo messed up with the Wii U. What Reggie says also applies to Nintendo's own consoles.

I see your point. Mario's probably not your thing anymore, so that's ok. But there's a certain extent that they can change something like Mario Kart. For newer fans, iterations are always great. Also, playing any of the 3D Mario's old or new are also good.
For older fans, some people DO want something new.

Alright, here's my reason. Nintendo has stated many times that gameplay comes first. YES there are tons of Mario games that come out, but they are all kinda different. For example, 3D world is the first 3D multiplayer mario. It feels kinda like galaxy, and kinda like 3D land, but not exactly the same.

That argument is old. Mario sells, gets good reviews, and is fun. If the characters in the Mario game were replaced, you wouldn't be complaining anymore, right? It wouldn't feel like the same game because a lot of times, the gameplay changes.
Zeldas rarely come out on home consoles... I WISH there were more, but since Nintendo goes after quality especially in Zelda, I have to wait at least 3 years before a new home console Zelda.
It's SUBJECTIVE guys. SUBJECTIVE. And don't bring hardware into an article about software. It makes it seem like the PS4 has to justify it's software lineup, which it shouldn't have to do.

Nope. If they gave their ip away, they would only be making money off of games, and not consoles. Plus, a lot of shares would also be going to Microsoft/Sony, so they wouldn't be making that much money at all.
Well that one guy is one of the three founders of Platinum Games and a very important person in the company so he should have a lot more influence on this than the average game developer in Platinum. It's a bit of a stretch to say that it's close to happening, but if Hideki Kamiya is interested in it, then Platinum Games is probably thinking about it.
That's actually pretty normal for a console. The PS2 frequently outsold the PS3 when the PS3 first came out. The DS was also outselling the 3DS when the 3DS first came out. Especially since the Wii U doesn't have a lot of games out yet, the Wii has been outselling it so far. After the games library expands, the Wii U will outsell the Wii. That's when the PS3 and 3DS started outselling the PS2 and DS. So new consoles get outsold easily after the first few months they come out.
Next gen vs current gen. It almost doesn't matter anymore. The power jump from xbox to xbox360 is not as big as the one from xbox360 to xbox one. In about 10 years, our eyes will barely be able to tell the difference between current graphics (as in 10 years later) and nextgen graphics (as in 15 years later). Though right now, it still makes a considerable difference. However, i wish people would stop arguing about graphics and power. What people actually want isn't always extremely go...
Nintendo never said they make new gameplay experiences for every franchise. ;) Besides, I like my smash bros and Mario Kart the way they are. Though the Mario franchise could change a bit. i bet new characters with the mario gameplay would still feel more refreshing than mario with new gameplay. Even just a spinoff game with Toad would be pretty cool.

You are Red, and you may not be so good. In the game, you fight Blue a bunch of times right? At the beginning he has a Rattata. You fight him some more, and another time he uses a Raticate (the evolved Rattata) Then, when you fight him at the end, no Raticate. People speculate that you killed his Raticate when you fought him. PS3 = 80 mil
Xbox360 = 80 mil.
PS4 = 2 mil
Xbox one = 2 mil
So 4 mil Wii U owners out of 168 mil consoles means that Wii U owners make up about 2.4% of the consoles that you can purchase COD:Ghosts on.
