the PS3 accesses service mode in almost the same way that the PSP does. The Pandora Battery on the PSP is technically a jig battery and memory stick. I thought it woulda been quite a bit different, but obviously not lol

WINE is actually really good, and i knew about this a while back (still have UT2003 and Jedi Academy running on mine, and it actually works better than windows lol) but at least its pointing it out for people who havent realised it/only just moved to linux :)

dammit, i was gonna say that lol. I bet theres gonna be some angry M$ customers at xmas though. Live will break (i know they are saying that they are more prepared, but going from other peoples experiences i dont think they are or ever will be), and then when the kiddies are busy playing offline instead they get RRoD....

its gonna suck for the community if Epic is bought by M$. Its common knowledge that M$ doesnt like user-created content, and one of the draws behind Unreal Tournament was all the mods etc that people made. M$ would stamp that out, and no-one would enjoy Unreal as much as they used to.
Once again, M$ sucking the fun outta stuff just to make a little more money...
i love how they make it sounds really bad that they will be banned from Live.... the pirate is saving an unnecessary £50 a year, so M$ are actually helping them save money in the long run. Loads of pirates on 360 = loads of bans = less revenue for M$/Live, so its gonna bite them in the a*s when they do that, and i cant wait to see it :D

gotta love that writers comparison. Its gotta be a rubbish DVD player (which he did say) and a rubbish Blu-ray player. If he used a PS3 its about 30secs all in all from start-up to the film, and the fast forward/rewind is brilliant. It also picks up where u stopped the film last aswell.
Maybe he should get a PS3, then he might realise that Blu-ray is picking up momentum, and already takin a chunk out of DVD sales...
with M$ constantly saying its sold more licenses coz of PC's bought from stores etc. I wonder how many bought a PC, were stuck with Vista, got home and deleted it and put XP/Linux on it? I know i would go straight to linux on mine, its just so bloody hard to buy a PC in a shop without an OS on though :( so i just make my own when i can be bothered to build another one from scratch lol

one thing M$ needs to work out is the meaning to 'if its not broke, dont fix it'. The UI has 'worked' since Windows 95, so why completely change it, and then ontop of that incorporate that rubbish ribbon technology into office. I cant find a thing i want without going through every option........

i know you can turn them messages off (which i did), but it comes up now saying that there is an error that these pointless messages are off....
glad i moved to Linux and never looked back, much more secure and no stupid messages :)
you could go to Mac/Linux, which are both easily 100times better than anything M$ spews out (its common knowledge that M$ doesnt have an original idea between itself, and Vista showed off how much they wanted to copy OS X...). I changed to Linux Ubuntu about 3yrs back now, and have not looked back. All my hardware works fine, and even better in some cases, and i dont have to worry about blue screen of death/constant viruses. Linux FTW :)
coz its easier using a web browser on a 32"+ HDTV and having youtube take up those full 32"+ and still look really good.
then you can close the web, and play some MGS4 :)
they should lol, i mean lets face it, no-one has hardware driver problems/anti-piracy problems on Mac or Linux, and thats because they trust there customers a lot more than M$ does. i was gonna say about the MSX bit, u beat me to it lol. The NES versions were poor rip-offs made by people who werent Hideo Kojima lol. The only nintendo one that Hideo made (as far as im aware) was the GBA one, and obviously Twin Snakes on the GC.
