In the end, I believe it is more to hide the game from potential costumers than to make people buy and keep two (or more) copies.

They obviously know everything is overhyped, and usually very average and unimaginative in this industry.

In other words, IMO they are not so worried that a second player that likes the game won't buy it as they are that this second person will actually find out the game is not that good.

Yeah, I'm definitely not a guy that goes blindly with the love and hate trends, but...

SERIOUSLY, UBISOFT?!?!?!

"Game takes place 'several years' after Just Cause 3"

Afterception.

Rebuilding the database and putting it offline?

Really?

Doesn't it depend on the PSN/XBL Store update? How would you buy a "complement" that wasn't up on the store yet?

Games here are ~80 USD.

I use these schemes all the time. Actually, I use all schemes I can to save some bucks when buying games. If there were none, I simply wouldn't buy half the games I get. I won't complain about my situation, but it is way harder to get 80 USD here than on the US or Europe.

Actually it means the opposite. It gets delayed when they have management problems (if their reasons are true).

Yes, they first release a fake release date.

Now we finally have the real one for this beast of a game!

Expect it to happen to most titles in the future. They're using it to make hype. Not so much in this case, but without a doubt they know that game that is coming in 6 months gets more attention than one coming in 15 months (until the actual release date).

Or what? Is it just a mere coincidence?

Sometimes it is the only way to get the full game.

It is complemented by preorder bonuses: have no neutral info on our product, but buy it before release. And reviews.

The only issue I've seen this far was the trophies.
Have played it for about 15 hours, I think... It's my go to game at the moment.

@d4v0333
Thanks for the heads-up.

@radler
Too bad that this came up too early and now they will manipulate their PR to convince anyone that it is not an issue.
Bacause of this, unless they say "we won't put microtransactions, period" we will only know on release how bad the abuse will be.

Edit: Did my homework and it already started...
"Microtransactions, subscriptions, and other biz mode...

Can be even better if it is current-gen only!

AND gives a decently near release window.

AND the release date is real, not fake as they usually do in the first "release date" reveal.

Also don't forget the keywords:
Bungie. Promises.

In other words, expect this improvement to come in 2016, in opposition of the nerfing patches, which come much more quickly than anything positive they promise.

That said, nightfalls and raids are still top notch gameplay in my book (even on level 29/30/30). :D

I agree that to some extent it should be there, BUT a trading system would simply kill the game, that only gets interesting when you reach the soft cap level 20.

The endgame is collecting rare weapons and armor that leads you to level 30. Period.

Endgame would be dead if you could trade these.

I agree that we should be able to trade motes of light, strange coins, materials though. But the itemization would have to be much m...

Me too.
It was annoying to see one of the most extreme faces of fanboyism and bias in the entire "gaming journalism" when this and other issues were almost completely overlooked.

Well, even yesterday I was talking to a friend about getting it or not and our opinions were the same: We were waiting on some great reason to buy it.

It happens that now we have pretty much the opposite.

Hiding the game is always an important "Watch Out!" sign.
