No it was tiresome, had an awful plot, the voice acting was poor, and the control scheme was mostly irritating 70% of the time. Atmosphere? Even #@#$ing Limbo has "atmosphere". You have to do something GOOD with the atmosphere or it's wasted.
I have SHITTY memories of playing through it and being disappointed. Since I'm not going to buy another one, I guess I'm the winner (in a Charlie Sheen sense).

You seem to be ignorant of the fact that Alan Wake WAS A THIRD PERSON SHOOTER.
It's not really an adventure game. The theory that Alan Wake failed because 360 fans only like shooters is kind of stupid because Alan Wake IS a 3rd person shooter. It uses civilian weapons, light sources, and a dodge move instead of a cover move but it's a whole lot like Gears of War in the dark.

Honestly, Heavy Rain isn't really known for quality. The plot was bad. The characters were...almost okay if you avoid the voice actors. They looked great sometimes but not usually.
The game won most of its admirers through NOVELTY. It's a new take on QTE controls.

I don't think anyone will be talking about KZ3 for much longer. LOL. The 15 minutes of fame and hype are pretty clearly over for KZ3.

I don't think being better than KZ3 is all that hard to do. It got an 85 on metacritic because it's short has a lot of silly rail shooting and overly scripted set piece stuff, and the multiplayer is dumbed down from KZ2. It shifted it's formula towards the CoD format and given the success of that format it might be the right thing to do ultimately for a lot of middle-brow shooters looking to grow their audience.

Yeah the differences are not worth fighting about. PS3 is VERY SLIGHTLY blurrier and 360 seems to have some chunky shadows and a little more contrast and pop. 360 seems to load detailed versions of a few textures a little more slowly in one scene in the movie.
Lighting seems pretty incredible in both. Color is good and deep in both.
