Third party usually makes seem first party efforts seem insignificant. PS3 has a bunch of extra exclusive games that most gamers don't really care much about. PS3 fans? Sure. Everyone else? Nope. Not really.
I'm convinced a lot of the PS3 fans don't even buy the big Sony exclusives given their ~4 million sales ceiling on a console with 48 million users.

Yeah it's so future proof it's way behind three year old PC's. Good one. Consoles are NEVER future proof. For most of their cycle consoles are the budget option.

Killzone 3 never came anywhere near having a real FPS crown.
Halo pretty much lost it's crown to Modern Warfare officially with MW2 but it was already neck and neck with MW.
Like it or not CoD is undisputed king right now, and Battlefield 3 is making one hell of a play for the crown this fall with some AMAZING new tech. If it runs well and looks good on consoles I think it will be the new bar for FPS to aim at.

I finished KZ3's single player about six hours after It was delivered and got to the point where I'm done with the MP in about 3 weeks. I'm done with KZ3 and Bulletstorm for a while for a while and looking forward to the next shooter. Which is Crysis 2 for me, because I got cold feet on Homefront.

It's sub Horizontal HD but it has 720 vertical lines and is displayed progressively. It has about 10% less horizontal columns. Not a big deal.

Halo has some similarity to Tribes but it'sa lot slower paced and there is a distinct lack of high speed jet packs that let your ground effect over land. Also, the vehicles go third person view instead of first person like Tribes.
I agree that the look is similar as is the idea of teams using vehicles to invade each other's forts in capture the flag.

I'd love to see those two rpg's come to the US. But I doubt Wii is going to domninate this year. Nintendo is launching 3DS now and probably subtly moving Wii to the 2nd line for their development and marketing efforts and thinking about a replacement of some kind.

I own KZ3 and have preordered Crysis 2 and Crysis 2 is looking better than KZ3 from the videos out. That's just the way it is.
