Man, this game wipes the floor with that Killzone 2 with more color sequel...what's it called??? Oh yeah, Killzone 3.
The xbox does have some pop in issues, no doubt about it. However, the ps3 version has a very flat lighting setup (as see on character face closeup) and ambient occlusion is really lacking on the ps3 version as well (as is usual). Overall it's pretty close but it'll really come down to performance. As is usually the case 360 will win this with better frame rate, less torn frames, and equal or better load time that require NO MANDATORY install.
Desperatly needs GPU more like 360's, desperately needs unified RAM architecture like 360's, definately needs most advanced online gaming network like Xbox Live, desperatly needs less convoluted CPU, desperatly needs faster optical drive or ability to install entire game to hdd, desperatly needs OS with smaller footprint like 360's. Needs a lot.
wow the 360 just keeps getting better and better. I mean it's almost not fair...almost. Xbox Live, Kinect, Cutting edge console GPU, Unified 512 meg of RAM, 6 thread CPU, largest library of available games, man this machine is amazing!
I see all these numbers about "what microsoft should have donated" this and Sony donated that...but to put things into perspective, where was Sony's, namco's, etc, donations when the hurricane Katrina disaster hit the U.S. or when there was the Gulf of Mexico oil disaster? Where was all their help? It's easy to point fingers but and say that Microsoft should have done this or that, and they did PLENTY in the about mentioned disaters but where was SONY? Where was NAMCO?, ...
Wow. Microsoft just keeps making Xbox Live more and more superior to ANY online console gaming service. I mean, they're already so far ahead of the pack that it's almost not fair......almost. Xbox Live=SUPERIOR TO ALL OTHER CONSOLE gaming services...period.

Hmmmm. Well this on was VERY close. As for graphics I can't really say one is much better than the other. But I'll attempt to objective. PS3's MLAA is a savior for currently releasing games as it frees up a lot of RSX processing cycles to be used for lighting, geometry, etc , and it's implemented very well in this game. I'm impressed. Graphics are getting more and more advanced as the months go on. Now we're beginning to see a VERY advanced technique come into play, tesselation. Fortunately 360' GPU supports this in hardware thanks to it's superior and forward thinking design, in starke contrast to other consoles on the market where this tech will surely struggle to be implemeted, if implemented at all. I can't blame some people for not purchasing this game. It is, afterall, the most advanced shooter on the market and , as such, requires superior hardware to achieve desired performance levels. As for the rest of us, 360/pc versions of this game are spectacular and will be a day one purchase. CRYTEK is really pushing the envelope and some pieces of hardware are having difficulty keeping up I guess.
Wow. This game just keeps getting better and better. Millions and millions sold of this FANTASTIC game!!! Just goes to show that when you've got a GREAT product people buy it. If not then they don't. Oh and contrary to what MANY believe "SALES DO MATTER." However I guess if you're not selling very much you'd be apt to say it doesn't. HALO, one of the most successful franchises in history. Sony DEFINATELY needs the next gen to come ASAP. Slumping sales, falling further behind 360, anemic GPU, convoluted CPU, antiquated RAM architecture, Blu Ray data bandwidth bottle-neck, "mandatory" installs, frequent "mandatory" firmware updates, child size controllers, and inflated OS on PS3 make the next gen for Sony a must. Let's hope they've learned how to make a better machine the next time around.

I completely agree. 256 Video RAM is a big problem that's for sure. I also agree with your assessment of the games you mentioned. Of course the ps3 fanboys are going to destroy you when you say ANYthing negative about their overpriced bluray player that makes a poor attempt at trying to be a gaming machine. I agree with LOLconsoles. This,as most ps3 exclusives, get hyped up like a trip to moon or something then end up never living up to expectations. Killzone with more color and better controller response.

Man I'm pumped about this game. The first one was a masterpiece and ran smooth as butter, well at least the 360 version did. I can't wait.
I think that 8 hrs is a bit short especiall given how long we've waited for this sequel. But at least I can play it without a "Mandatory"
