If NVIDIA sees AMD's flagship as a competitor to its mid-range GK104 chip than that's not their problem.
AMD went on with releasing the card in the first place, no doubt HD 7970 is great card but if NVIDIA's GK104 chip could offer the same level of performance then why not?
Also, AMD's HD 7970 was $549 at launch, NVIDIA's counterpart GTX 680 was $499. They reduced their price later on and now its around $449 with HD 7970 Boost somewhere ar...

PC went Next-Gen along time ago with next-gen.
Next-Gen in hardware technology = PC
Its variable on different systems but the top most is of no match for the consoles. PS4 can bring an A10 APU, that's considered mainstream in PC available for $129.99.
Next-Gen in gaming = PC
It has always been, you know that Battlefield 4 leak going on today?
It says the only difference between PS3/Xbox 360 and next ge...
At your reply to dedicated below.
Its a one time cost, you pay it and you can enjoy gaming on it for 2 years easy.
Believe me, my rig is running a GTX 560 Ti bought at launch back in January 2011, almost 2 years and this is still running games at 1080P.
CPU side you know, a quad core is pretty much whats needed these days, 8 GB ram is cheap so running 64-bit OS's doesn't hurts. Its a one time cost and you can spend your bucks on gam...
This whole fixing and upgrading PC's problems topics with every game release is getting old.
You don't need to upgrade with each hardware release, yes if you have a PC equivalent the cost of PS3 or 360 then don't expect miracles or playing on 1080P with the highest res settings but please if you play at those settings than its not our fault about you fixing/tweaking them, Update is necessary and a requirement if you want extra.
Spend money on the...

Not some of us, actually most of us now have a rig capable to outperform the consoles and it doesn't require you to spend $1000+ either.
It was rumored that the PS4 would feature an AMD APU with 6670 levels iGP.
You know what? We got a piledriver APU on the PC which costs $139.99 and has a HD 7660D chip. If you want more performance than a discrete graphics solution such as the GTX 650 Ti or HD 7850 both of which cost $149.99 can last you a while.
Good initiative by Steam since it will provide users with alot more than games. Some of those benchmarking and production software are actually helpful and intresting even for regular users.
The game is based off the Frostbite 2.0 engine which is primarily a DX11 engine hence the performance increase is expected.
Although 300% is a bit absurd but DX11 is indeed very optimized over DX10. Users would be available to run in in DX9 while DX11 would kick in with the suitable hardware.
First Quarter of 2013.
We made what skyrim was meant to be.
We modded Crysis 2 to a whole new era with Maldos textures.
We achieved what From Software couldn't while developing dark souls e.g Native 1080p and 60FPS.
We had one of the best looking games of all time, Crysis 1.
It all depends on the DLCs we get for ME3 in the future.
Arrival in Mass Effect 2 set the stage for ME3, Although it was known after the Suicide mission endings that the Reapers would eventually arrive to consume organics but their time of arrival and Indoctrination skills were truly revealed by that single DLC.
The article sure is terrible, only by minor flaws and a few plot holes in ME3, the whole series became broken?
Anyways, im looking forward to the new Mass Effect game. It was known that ME3 would be the end of Shepards Trilogy which has been a fantastic ride but the universe Mass Effect (Bioware) has crafted doesn't ends here for sure.
Casey also said new DLC is coming such as Omega and other Single player content which im also very interested in since ...
Running and Supporting are two different things.
Low end and mainstream hardware can support higher resolutions but can the same hardware run them?
The GTX 680 and HD 7970 both card run 4K resolution at 30-35 AVG FPS on the most demanding titles such as Battlefield 3.

Dirt Showdown ain't that much of a resource hog as BF3 so the only limiting factor is the 30Hz on the monitor, not the GPU's. Provide them a 60Hz and they would easily churn out better frame rat...
Three posts above me are very true, in maps like Metro where you have to hold the line such perks do come real handy.
Beast in Performance and Price. Nuff Said!
The amount of power these GPUs hold is beyond amazing.
