NVIDIA = XFX
Have you been living under a rock? The last time XFX made an NVIDIA cards under their brand were the GeForce 200 Series. Since then XFX has switched to AMD Only GPUs!
And don't even ask me about their relability, Boxed had label of 9600GT which turned out to be XFX 7600GSO - blew a transistor, 9600GSO, XFX GTS 250 had VRram issues in the second month.
GTX 680/ HD 7970 are more than capable of running anything you throw at them.
Its time we (PC audience) adopt 4k resolution displays while these so-called next-gen consoles adopt 1080p as standard res.
@Gaming The GTX 780 is GK110, twice the performance of GK104. That card itself would be a monstrosity, sure you can handle all its power? ;)
Well the 660Ti is intended to replace the 560Ti so a price range of $249-$329 seems more reasonable.
OBR also confirms this over at his blog.
As far as Specs/Performance are concerned, The 660Ti would be made of a trimmed down GK104 core (almost 2SMX clusters disabled), memory would also be downgraded to 1.5Gb on a 192-bit wide interface resulting in a memory bandwidth of 144Gb/s compared to 670/680's 192GB/s.
The 1152 Cores and the memor...
Risking your life away from a game - This is called "Dedication".
The EVGA GTX 670SC issue is different than the "NVIDIA recalling 600 Series" Fiasco.
Pnosker started the rumor and Chinese site PCpop that NVIDIA might recall 600 Series due to performance degradation when running the GPU at loads for sometime. However Xbitlabs have reported that the rumor is false as stated by NVIDIA's spokesman.
The EVGA issue is related to V-Sync issues. Buyers specifically using the SuperClocked variant of the 670 are facin...
Hi! Hope you're doing well. :)
The 560Ti HAWK killerpwned has recommended you is indeed a great card, im using the same card and it can play every game at 1080P well.
The 560Ti SLI would be a killer setup though for some reasons i won't advice you to get it.
Why you ask? There's a better option! The price you pay for two 560Ti's is around $400-$500 (Not bad considering the performance you get) but opting for a single non-refer...
Multiplayer/Survival Horror seriously? That won't be anything like DOOM.
DOOM was all about fast paced and non-linear action with monsters pouring in from every corner. How can i forget the metal tracks?
Bring back e1m1 theme, that alone would be a reason for me to buy the game.
Windows 8 isn't the requirement here, 64-bit OS is.
They are just asking that it would be great for users running XP/Vista 32-bit to upgrade to 64-bit Windows 8 since its new and a bit better performance wise although the UI is under-developed.
Windows 7 (64-bit) is necessary for every PC gamer with a Dual Core/2GB Ram or greater setup.
Hey Orpheus! I guess you're talking about GPU's VRAM here because that's what load the textures, system memory doesn't affects/improves texture rendering much. :p
Other developers need to take note, PC's became capable of handling 64-bit back in 2003 with the arrival of x86 architecture.
Even i'd say get rid of DX9. Games should be made primarily on DX10/11 engines. Just like Just Cause 2 which ditched DX9 and ran on DX10. Its about time PC users hop on the DX11/64-bit bandwagon since hardware has become cheap and affordable even for budget gamers.
You get a rich 1080P gaming experience with the GTX460 which co...
@P_Bomb
Then i guess you either didn't end the game or simply failed to understand what was going on.
What you saw in the arrival DLC has nothing to do here. Look at my post again to atleast understand what i meant.
A bit wrong here my friend!
The Mass Relay we hit in the Arrival DLC had its core destroyed by the asteroid collision which resulted in the loss of the Batarian controlled territory.
However, In ME3 the Relays are charged up with the crucible's energy fired from the citadel, Hence the relays dissipate that specific energy depending on your choice.
The star system isn't destroyed instead absorbed by the charged energy dissipated by t...
Sure EPIC won't have some of the best games in town but their engine does delivers.
Take Batman: AC as an example. One of the most taxing DX11 in recent years, visuals are superb and compete head on head against CE3 though not equally good but still its quite an achievement what rocksteady study's did with UE3.
I play on max settings at 1080P (PhysX - High) and at some certain places the game reminds me of the Samaritian demo.
Witcher 2 had a nice depth of field and some high quality landscapes, Battlefield 3 and the upcoming ARMA III too have some pretty heavy/jawdropping landscapes.
Those screenshots are definitely from PC since Epic themselves revealed that only NVIDIA's Kepler can (for now) power the Unreal Engine 4, There's no console out which can even run it while a single Kepler can produce an acceptable image quality at 1080P res compared to Fermi.
Modern day GPU's fully support Ray Tracing, DX11 Tessellation (Key feature of UE4 as seen from images), Per particle motion blur and what not? EPIC's own gift for NVIDIA users - PhysX. U...
Actually K10 Tesla is still based on 2 GK104's, Its like a GTX 690 developed specifically for Compute and GPGPU Oriented usage.
The K20 is the badass here, True GK110 featuring 16 SMX Units, 512 bit wide memory interface pumping out an 332Gb/s bandwidth all packed in a 550mm2 die consisting of 7.1 Billion Transistors.
Though complete specs are yet to be announced but we'll see its arrival by 1H 2013. There would be a desktop part too, most probably th...
That thing trade blows with the 7970. Day 1 purchase for me :D
Guys! The card in the picture is the GTX 670. :P
Don't go for the DirectCU 570, Get yourself a new 670 when it launches. Not only would it be faster than the 580 but also be more power efficient. ;)
Not really, GPU die gets smaller but transistor count is being increased radically be each passing year.
A beefier PWM Phase is required to power it up which is the reason for the larger PCB's. The specific model you are looking at is manufactured for the sole purpose of Overclocking/Enthusiastic needs hence it requires a powerful VRM design, 3 x 8 Pin PCI-e connectors and some goddamn impressive specs.
