@hotforplay
PSP apparently killed the Gameboy DURING the height of Pokemon global domination? WOW, you must be right.
Pretty sure they said at their financial statements/Iwata conferences that (atleast for japan at a minimum) marketing would start in October, for an end of year release.
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAT??
Yes, and what do you mean 2 months notice? E3 to Christmas = 6 months. The only thing we don't know is price.
@SpoonyRedMage, EXACTLY.
And lets not forget their Full Year Estimate included a particular number of DS PLUS 3DS sales, meaning if the DS isn't going to get the numbers the 3DS is going to have to release with enough time.
Ofcourse were really only talking one retailer here.
True, they have learned that alot of things don't work/sell to the consumer.
- exclusive film disc format = no
- exclusive download only device = no
- selling to one narrow segment of the market = no
- selling pretty much only to the one market that tends to pirate that software = no
I hope they have learned alot.
btw, I think theres no PSP2 announced because they actually thought the PSPGo was going to be the PSP2...
Well Nintendo shares are going to soar today, thats for damn sure.
The proof of this comment is in the failure of Sony to market their multimedia device effectively. I have an mp4 video/audio player, but do i use it to watch videos on? No
Nintendo was smart twice during this gen. because BOTH consoles were consoles marketed as video game devices, ie: to play games on. Thats why people buy them, to play games.
Maybe the 3DS screen is too small?
It is the final name. Notice that story was from May this year, right before E3, where it was still being called the 3DS. Its the best name possible, and i think everyone expected that to be the name of it.
If Nov. 20th is right, its the same release date of Kinect in Japan.
Twitter account has now been deleted.
CONFIRMED
edit> Actually its still there.
Start saving those pennys gentlemen and, if you can afford it, buy as many Nintendo shares as you can manage.
@bringitson, you got a source on that production drop of 40%?
Seems like its strange timing, being that its before Christmas and all.
SOCIAL - Farmville
CASUAL - Tetris
Yea, and how many downloads of MGS and Res. Evil 4? Tell me please, because i would love to know.
Well the positive news to take away from this is that, while I haven't bought NTDOY shares yet, and all this paranoia in Bloomberg, WSJ and CNBC is bound to scare off punters, I will likely get a decent low 30's price on the shares.
Investors are so easily intimidated!
For Bloomberg, Yes that was a bit of a joke comment. Serious business publication? hah
Terrible thought, and a terrible journalist to even imagine such a nightmare world.
brown and bloom everywhere
High cost of games development and marketing = death of artistic value and originality in videogames
There you go, and the film/music industries are NO DIFFERENT btw.
WAVERACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !
