Why are you just now submitting this? This article was made in September.
Interesting read nonetheless. Would be cool if Sony could make that concept happen.
Not gonna lie, this made me lol.
This is very frustrating.
Your saying your point was dev time when you initially talked about recouping losses.
What Yoshida said is relevant. The interviewer asked if TLG was among Sony's most expensive games to due to **how long it was in development** and Yoshida's response was "no not all" and what I have been reiterating. Even if it exceeded it's initial budget it's overall cost is still much lower than that of a typical AAA...
* * * "When did I ever state I actually knew? You and others are adding on your own points and concerns that I never even addressed or said." * * *
I'm bringing up other games because you said the sales were low and that saying that game is niche was an excuse for the low sales. So I'm asking what was your prediction/ what was you expecting in regards to week one sales in order for them to be satisfactory for you in your opinion. I'm not say that you k...
Yeah, I remember you not being a huge fan of VR. That's why I keep saying try it to those who call it a gimmick. It's easy to think that VR is just two screens close to your eyes that replace the right stick on the controller, but if you try it you'll see that it's way more than that. You actually feel like you're in the game in regards to vision and hearing.
It is not a gimmick, but actually a step in the right direction. I know people what a full lengt...
I doubt it will be $400 unless they are willing to take a pretty good loss. The tech in it makes it so. I don't think the price matters that much as this is just an upgraded XB1 and not a new console. Doesn't have to sell millions out of the gate like the PS4 and XB1 did when they launched. Not every XB1 owner will be inclined to make the jump as they aren't missing out on anything besides better performance and graphics and VR. Something a bit bigger than the XB1S splash that hap...
* * * "Oh...was Deadrising 4 in development for almost 10 years like TLG?" * * *
That's your excuse? lol
So your saying 200k first week is enough to recoup the loss for DR4?
And why do you keep ignoring the fact TLG doesn't have the budget of a typical AAA game? Yoshida himself said that Horizon: ZD has a much bigger budget than TLG. This means that TLG doesn't have to sell as much as a typical AAA game to make a p...
Difference here is that TLG sales aren't bad though. ~500k for TLG is if not good then it is at the very least a solid start, no? If not then how much would you consider good or at least ok for it? How much were you expecting?
DR4 on the other hand, 200k is low no matter how niche the game is in my opinion, unless it's an indie game. Obviously you can point out that sales are a result of the game not meeting the expectations of quality and thus deserved the sales.

@lastking95
I actually used to do that "back in the day" lol. Not really that hard if you remember the comment and article it was said. I honestly give him credit for that, but he himself has contradicted his past comments even going as far as to edit them not to mention he's been caught lying at times and the fact that he trolls often as well. That's why I hate when people praise him. Even though he might have 'exposed' someone and it's hilari...
*Sigh*
You cannot be serious.
All the questions I asked were rhetorical/tongue in cheek. I already know what the real deal is man. Didn't expect you to give me an answer or even reply.
Or should I assume that you think what DashArrivals said is representative of all PlayStation fans?
Thought he/she was joking too lmao!
But if you google RRP, Recurrent respiratory papillomatosis is what pops up first.
Multiplatform, but didn't stop people from putting it on lists of 2016 exclusives though...
Why is your fellow contingent pal gangsta_red no where to been seen though? I'm sure he's wondering if MS and Capcom sold enough to recoup the losses on this title right? Consistency is the Xbox Nation way, amirite everyone?
LOL
I was just going to point out his hypocrisy. He was also big-ing up Rookie in that thread as well, telling people "like no man's sky hold this L" ROFLMAO, my days.
* * * "I am specifically wondering about sales for a game that took nearly 10 years to make and then making less than 500k on release" * * *
If you are truly wondering this then you no longer need to wonder. TomatoDragon has already provided a link that gives an idea of what the budget of The Last Guardian is, which is less than that of a typical AAA game.
Now that we know the approximation of the budget, 500k for a game on one platform with lit...
* * * "No way they could have recouped that loss with those sales" * * *
How much did you expect the TLG to sell during its launch week in order for the money to be recouped by Sony?
It appears that Horizon: ZD's budget is much more than TLG despite TLG being in development longer than Horizon. Which means that TLG budget is well under than that of a typical AAA game. So you can stop "worrying" about recouped losses. Unless you thi...
Oh well. People were mute when MS did it, mute when Sony did and will be mute when Ninty does it.
Can't take a stand now. Wii U had free online, yet sold poorly. PS3 had free online, yet sales difference of PS360 wasn't huge at all.
I wonder if Ninty will offer free games every month at least.
Looked good and fresh.
50 more than the rumor. Most that thought it was gonna be 250 will still get it for 300.
Don't know how this will it affect it in reality though. Competing with XB1 and PS4 directly at this price.
EDIT: At Below
I doubt Nintendo will do it, but if they did, I'd guess 1-2 Switch would be it.
Aw man. Was really hoping that these guys would make the next Killzone game. Looks like there will never be another KZ game on same level as KZ2.
Gangsta_red, I'll give you one thing, you're very clever. I see what you're doing man.
Did I inquire about you defending the sales of DR4? No, I was wondering about your concern of the losses as just the day before you was very concerned. It's only natural to wonder why you aren't here saying the same thing.
"What about AAA?" I was merely saying that TLG's budget is below them and thus doesn't have to perform like the...
