A good spiderman game is long over due.
This article is talking about lack of innovation in FPS and not lack of innovation in general. There were plenty of new IPs that brought something new to the table this gen.

Exactly. I never understood why video games like Harry Potter are adapted from the movie instead of the novel itself.
I like to create my own character as much as the next guy but like BiggCMan said games where you create your own character tend to have a less compelling story.

Activision will finally let treyarch/infinty ward do something new with the series, but it will lead to CoD fans being disappointed because the game plays different.

Yeah, It felt like Rocksteady was testing/to the easy way out with Arkham City. The next Batman game better be ALL of Gotham City. I want to see civilians. I want to see random muggings and robberies. Rocksteady took the safe route by limiting it to Arkham City so that all that was in the open world was inmates, not to say that they didn't do a good job. Arkham City is definitely a 10/10 in my book.
I felt that way in the beginning too, but the more I played the game the more I was like this game deserves all of the praise it gets.
Removing the backwards compatibility for PS3 made the system cheaper. I for one would have not bought a PS3 if it remained expensive. What does that mean? That means PS2 backwards compatibility wasn't worth shelling out $600 for a PS3. I'm buying a PS3 to play PS3 games not PS2... yes it would be convenient to have PS2 BC, but at what price? It's pretty obvious that a lot of people prefer a cheap console without PS2 BC than an expensive console with PS2 BC.

FF13 is trash end of story. It doesn't compare to FF7, FF8, and FF10. Hell, FF12 is better. No need to defend trash. FF13 had NO open world map. The entire game was just 'walk from point A to point B" with some battles in between the journey.
If that some how constitutes as a great game to you then I just don't know what to say to you.
Jak 3 is may favorite simply because it was semi open world/ GTA-like with the ability to jack hover vehicles and exploration. Jak 3 has me wanting a Jak 4.
I'd rather have a Jak 4 than an HD remake to be honest. If the HD remake sells poorly then all hope is lost for a Jak 4. :(

I personally never by games (apart from sports games) that release yearly. 2 years is minimum for me. Which is why I won't be picking this AC up.
