No, 12 had the best encounter system of the series and versus 13 looks like it might take that crown from 12.
I do applaud SE for actually taking a step forward for once. 13-2 is definitely better than 13 gameplay-wise so all hope isn't lost for SE.

lol I just read a link that someone posted which got me interested in 13-2 and then you give a link that turns me off.
I'll just formulate my own opinion off the demo lol.
After reading that it does appear 13-2 is in fact better than 13. It seems like the linearity problem has been addressed which was 1 of 2 of my main gripes with 13.

The digimon anime went south with the 4th season though and the Pokemon games needs to change up the formula. If GTA 5 took out realism it would be... Saints Row. So realism in GTA 5 is definitely essential.
But is motionscan technology essential for GTA 5 to have? I say no. It would be tough task to do anyway. How many people would they have to do it for? A lot.
The only way I see motionscan being used is if GTA 5 doesn't release until the next Xbox and PS4 comes out.

I prefer calling it 15 as it would give it the attention it deserves. Like blackmask said Versus should NOT be a spinoff. It is more worthy of a main FF title than FF13 ever was.
