As long as you PC gamers pirate games, you'll always get the short end of the stick(if you're lucky to get anything at all). Consoles are most profitable, thus major focus is on consoles. What's really "holding tech back" are you PC gamers with your pirating tendencies.

Plenty of FPSs(ones that aren't clones...) have out done CoD from a gaming stand point. It's just that they don't out do CoD in sales.
As for the actual clones... Nobody wants a knockoff. Why play the clone when you can play the original? People that want CoD buy CoD, plain and simple. Nobody looks for a game that isn't CoD, but plays like CoD because that doesn't make any sense. Save yourself the trouble and buy the actual game titled CoD.

It's funny because whenever a PS3 or vita exclusive gets a low score and people criticize, scream media bias, say the reviewer is paid or say whatever people on N4G like to bring up how... people on N4G won't let the reviewer have his/her opinion and leave it at that. But when said people give their personal opinion on the game which happens to be positive, people on N4G say "you only think that way because it's exclusive to PlayStation," "can't you see the game...

It's the opposite actually. It's nearly impossible to suck at CoD. That is why millions love it. If you can't suck at the game you can't hate it in the general sense of the general consumer(casuals). Hardcore gamers want more of a challenge from their games, thus pro gamers aren't going to waste their time playing a game that is essentially designed to be an easy pick up and win game.
Word. My excitement went down when it was revealed that the 20 characters revealed was all that was going to be in the game, but when I got my chance to actually play the game it made the characters less important to me because I was having fun playing the game with only 6.

Totally agreed. Rockstar are the best developers in gaming history in my opinion with Kojima and Naughty Dog following behind them respectively.
