epic could do it free if they wanted, they released free content for gears of war 1, look at everything criterion has done with burnout, ubi with the graw games
everybody says it is MS who makes devs charge, that is just not the case, if a developer really wants to release a free update they can they just don't try
and honestly nothing is stopping these devs from releasing their content online, over their websites etc
if a dev or publisher really wanted ...
well halo 2 was the first majorly profitable DLC release via live i had forgotten about the others actually but i remember the halo 2 maps being a big deal
while i agree to some extent, things like the lost and the damned are no different than going out and buying an addition disc, or expansion for a pc game
some companies take it too far, everything can be abused but i think for the most part MS is one of the better companies about DLC
they aren't like EA and Namco selling you things that are already on the disc
and i really can't blame MS for starting it either, it all started with pay to play games ad ho...
i bought the game day 1 and had it for maybe 2 months
when i stopped playing there were barely anybody play still playing
too little too late in my opinion
honestly everything epic is saying is code for "we are too lazy and this isn't going to make us money"
they just dont want to build 2 patches because the 360 version and the ps3 version are actually quite different in the respect that the 360 version actually runs on a new UE3 s...
there are dedicated servers....
the ones with names like "midway east"...the ones that how up when you search "dedicated only"
ah yes god forbid somebody put greenery and water next to each other, how dare they copy such a revolutionary concept
youre implying that artwork isn't impressive?
there is gameplay all over youtube
everybody knows killzone is coming out, you don't need to tell everybody killzone has only been hyped for the last several years
OFP doesn't come out until july, that is why this information is interesting, the first game had a huge following and people really want this game and not much is known about it
people care about other games besides killzone 2, and people like to read about those games without idiots bringing up killzone every 2 seconds when it is completel...
somebody needs to make an offroad sim...please
you must stop bringing up killzone in every comment, have a rational conversation for once
you sound like a poorly translated advertisement
seriously why bring up killzone 2 in every single article?
its slightly annoying, this game has nothing at all to do with KZ2 aside from the first person perspective
the game looks better than those screens, there are gameplay demos on youtube...those screens are way dark for some reason
not a bad looking game by any means even from those shots though
2 reasons
A) these aren't popular japanese style games
B) neither one of these games were great to begin with
no way is a shooter going on 2 discs, especially when the campaign for those games is usually sub 10 hours, and then add improved compression algorithms on top of that
as stated by someone else already the 360 version has most of this stuff already
another thing worth noting is the game is dead, there were only a few games up about 2 months after launch, the game wasn't very good
i played through the joke of a campaign twice, played some multiplayer and then sold it
as a long time UT fan UT3 was a huge let down to me
i doubt anybody out there actually cares about this game enough anymore to bother
what i meant was i hope other aspects of the game aren't sacrificed purely for scale
i already plan to pick this up day 1 but i'm hoping it turns out to be spectacular
im going to watch this one...im still unsure on it
it has potential to be fantastic but also is in danger of being a bit too ambitious
i like how 2 years ago everybody loved dane cook, and now its cool to hate him i guess
actually they completely kill your internet connection this way, not just boot you out of games, being booted is a side effect of the attack
it is a DNS attack so it is actually a big deal
the fact that they are using live to identify targets is also an issue
