As far as I can tell Final Fantasy XV has sold well on Xbox 1, the more JRPG's the better.

The Switch uses a custom Nvidia Tegra chip, you can already see the games that chip can run because it's already used inside the Nvidia Shield micro console however the Shield is constrained because it runs Android while the Switch OS will let developers code to the 'metal'.

Maybe you haven't seen it but Capcom have MT Framework up and running on Switch in 2 months with 2 programmers working on it. Next they're working on the Resident Evil 7 engine.

Switch is more capable and developer friendly than your stating and Nvidia make industry leading tools for their Tegra chip.

The PS4 may outsell the 3DS but the concept of people playing games on the go is far more popular than game playing systems for your living room.
There are literally billions of game players using mobile phones for their main gaming sessions. That market makes PS4 sales look very small and that's the market Nintendo want to tap into with the Switch.

@Goldby I don't agree. ps4 & x1 target top market TV standards and are continuing that with the Pro & Scorpio upgrades. They're 2 very similar pieces of hardware, very boring and very weak when compared to gaming PC's which usually target the future living home standard. Back in 2008 4K was already about for gaming PC's but the TV tech was still years away, hence the Sony and MS console upgrades only coming now.

The Switch is a completely different a...

I was going to buy a game from the recent Jan sale but because of this practice I didn't. If Nintendo offer customers the option to pay the remainder from their payment card of choice why can Sony not either?

I think it's funny how people expect the Switch to achieve everything below
a) have a home console and portable hybrid form
b) be more powerful than PS4/xbox1 which draw power from a wall plug
c) be cheaper than PS4/Xbox1 which have been on market for 3 years
d) not get ports of games at launch
e) have free online services which Nintendo/DeNA have spend the past 2 years heavily investing, building & expanding
f) have cheaper gam...

In handheld mode Switch runs Zelda equal to WiiU. I think that's pretty damn impressive.

I have to download and install all my xbox one disc games anyway. It's the same with ps4 users.... The disc format is becoming irrelevant, I'd be very surprised if disc's are still used in 10 years. The size of games is an non issue with internet services getting more and more advanced. I say this even though my own internet connection is less that 8Mbs.

It's all about keeping up system sales momentum in the run up to the Christmas holiday season. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe landing in April is really where the news should be at. Mario Kart is a title that will sell hardware and if Splatoon 2 holds its summer launch the Switch will have 2 big games which players can form communities in and Zelda. That's a solid lineup for potentially the first 3-4 months.

I feel Nintendo should have gave more time to Indies in the presenta...

The Switch would benefit greatly if it had 100% development focus from Nintendo behind it.

In a way I agree with what your saying, but the 3DS has sold more systems in the past 3 months than in any other point in its life cycle. It would be a very bad business decision to just cut that revenue just because they have a new system coming out very soon. I think the 2 systems can for the time being co-exist but the 3DS is getting old.

I think it's launch lineup has 5 games because the system is launching in March (not a big shopping period). I'm pretty sure if Nintendo wanted to they could drop Mario Kart 8 deluxe at launch but they're holding it for April to help keep system sales momentum. The same is probably true for Splatoon 2. So instead of releasing many big games early in the year, they'll spread 2 big games over the initial launch period ( first 3 months ). By the time September rolls in, Nintendo ...

I can't agree with you more @meganick. With nearly 100% development focus from Nintendo's internal studios the Switch could have the best 1st party line up of any Nintendo console released before. People are quick to forget Nintendo release more games every year than any other publisher in the games industry. The 3DS has Fire Emblem Echos & Warriors and that's all we really know right now, it also has room for maybe one more price drop. I think development will dry up for 3DS ...

DeNA are building the online infrastructure for Nintendo Switch, they've been building online networks for years in the mobile space. It's disappointing we don't have more information about the online services but I'm expecting a massive overall from previous online services. What's also interesting is they're adding online play to NES & SNES games possibly to stress test the network as much as possible to gauge max load etc.
