Readily available = Easy to find, at MSRP, and without any form of limitation imposed.
That is not the case, in the US or UK.
@IRetroUK "tesco limit how many bottles of coca cola each customer can buy when on offer"
That's when the item is on sale, totally different thing - that is to control losses and avoid customers and businesses (e.g. restaurants) from just stocking up in large quantities and causing large losses for the store.
These items are not on discount. They are being purchase amount limited because there are very limited amounts of them available.
Probably not. Disk drives have been per-unit paired to motherboards since the PS3/360 days, the out of box setup on a console isn't like a Windows installer where it detects and installs drivers for anything you have attached.
You'd need a FW mod, like people used to do with the 360.
@IRetroUK "what has being able to buy 5 at once got to do with anything"
If something is readily available, stores don't limit you to 1 of them. I can walk into Walmart and buy 5 PS4's or XB1's, or 5 TV's, and they will not limit me because these items are readily available.
The UK stores are also limiting you to 1 unit, meaning the unit is in demand / stock is limited.
And yes, stock varies worldwide, e.g. the...
Yeah... the motherboard pairing is also a fundamental part of anti-piracy, so it would be a huge oversight on Sony's part if this actually worked - with an official or unofficial drive.
This looks great for such a small team! I still hope Capcom give it a proper RE2/3 style remake though.
@IRetrouk That's one country though, and a very small country. Sadly it's not the case here in the states, it's impossible to find S and X.
Readily available would suggest in major countries like the US, I can just walk into Walmart and buy 5 off the shelf - which you also cannot do in the UK.
It's obvious that this wouldn't work...
@TheProblem Series S is definitely not 'readily available' here. Good luck finding an S or X.
@SullysCigar Sounds like you're playing the 'Xbox is doomed!' fearmongering card. Xbox is doing fine, better than ever actually - which is good for us gamers, competition is important.
And how does that invalidate sales comparisons? Are you saying people are buying two Xbox’s at a time? That seems extremely unlikely.
One console SKU or ten - makes no difference.
Time to see what this thing really is. People are either going to be over the moon, or extremely annoyed.
So everyone who buys an Xbox buys two? A Series S and X? Makes perfect sense /s
I’m sure Microsoft would love if that were true lol.
That logic also means all the PS5 comparisons are invalidated since there are two consoles.
“Remind yourself how weird it is that MS has somehow survived all that.”
XB1 was a mess, but the above makes MS sound like a startup rather than one of the biggest companies in the world, and one that is worth multiples of their competitors combined…
The only way they wouldn’t have “survived” would’ve been if they gave up and left the industry.
The edge browser on console is actually pretty decent - you can even stream Steam games etc to your Xbox. It certainly beats not having a browser…
Huh, what’s this article got to do with Xbox?
It’s hard to get a PS5 in most countries, R&C still sold more than 14k in those countries.
And there are way more than 14k PS5’s sold in Japan so far.
It does look great, and we’re still in the very early days of the generation. Imagine how ‘next/current’ gen games will look in 5 years.
I’d say it’s more the fact that Nintendo have taken over JP.
Switch physical games are still selling well, so it’s not due to lockdowns.
@Foxhound which camp? I didn’t realize I was camping.
@waverider “You really dont understand much about business.”
“Sales dont mean nothing? One game sold by sony 70... you understand how many subscribers Microsoft needs?”
Anyone who understood business would know that Sony doesn’t get $70 when you buy a $70 game - they get no where near it. That’s a very basic part of understanding business.
