The company is a lot more corporate under Jim Ryan. Just look at his decisions, all about making more $$$ and not about the consumer at all. This is not the Sony of 2013.
Not sure that's the best comparison to make. The first thing that comes to mind when I think of Nike is cheap, poorly made products, being manufactured in Chinese sweatshops/prison camps and being sold at exorbitant prices.
Sony are hardly going to come out and say otherwise.
Only the consumer can decide if something is a cash grab or not.
Eww, Facebook. I simply refuse to give them any of my data or contribute to them in any way shape or form - be that via a HW purchase or something as simple as registering an account.
The PC modding community will always fix it.
It's also very useful when running at 120Hz targets, where frame drops are very common (8ms budget per frame). So yes, VRR is useful on PS5 games too.
Yeah... they're sitting on so many good IPs (similar to Konami), it's frustrating.
Welcome back E3. Looking forward to attending in person again when it's back up and running.
I never understood the whole 'collector's edition with no game' thing, especially if there's a steelbook. If I'm spending hundreds of dollars on your special edition, I expect a copy of the game to be included.
Just make two versions, digital and physical. Not a hard problem to solve.
That's pretty awesome. I hope they make a third game to be honest, one of the best games of the last years.
Lol that is awesome, also that thumbnail.
@EvertonFC I literally just threw the FM7 disk into a 2013 Xbox One VCR that has been offline for years. It took a system update (presumably from the disk), and played fine.
Also, I could play the singleplayer without internet. Something I can't do on my PS5 w/ GT7.
One time activation? You can just dump the Forza disk in and play offline.
Also, even if it did have a one time activation, that's still not always online. Let's not forget, GT7's singleplayer was unplayable for over a day near launch due to server issues. Servers that are wholly unrequired for singleplayer. That is always online.
Forza's servers can go down / you can go offline, and you can still play singleplayer.
They have 2 studios in England (mainly for outsourced COD work).
But no, the UK government won't hold this up - and if they did, Activision could easily just pull out of the UK and proceed (assuming MS agrees to 2 less studios), those studios aren't essential, the essential studios are all here in the States - so it would hurt England more than Activision / MS.
Why would they get fired? It wouldn't be their fault. Plus they could just turn around and buy other smaller companies.
Not that there's any chance this gets blocked anyway (especially in England) - it's normal for these things to get probed, but this is going to sail through.
Sad news, such a young age. RIP.
@Godmars Or perhaps they're just marketing their game? (Rather well I must say).
They tweet near identical things for PS:

Doesn't mean they want to be acquired; it means they want ...
All it really has to do is launch and not be always online, and not be filled with egregious MTX and it's already got way more 'personality' than GT7. Any AI improvements are just icing on top.
I miss the R* of old that used to embrace modders. Take2 & the success of GTA Online has gotten to them.
@Eonjay He is head of Sony Interactive Entertainment, aka their entire gaming business.
And under him, it's miles from this: https://www.youtube.com/wat...
