No I think 12 was the last great Square Enix console game. Despite the hate it gets it was pushing Final Fantasy in the right direction in terms of how big and open the world was. It's just a shame that the story wasn't up to scratch and the characters didn't feel unique enough when using them.
I'm a 'true' Final Fantasy fan but I'm still buying the game. Unlike some I'm not so quick to throw away my favorite franchise after a few mishaps. I never played FFXI or FFXIV as I never had the means to do so. FFXIII was the first time I've been disappointed with a main line Final Fantasy game even after masterpieces like VI, VII and X.
To be honest, the main reason is because, I just want a good console JRPG, and they're so scarce these days tha...
Wow, hate hate hate as per usual then Godmars. But who am I judge eh? Just an opinion, which is fair enough. Can't hate on your for that at all. Now, in all seriousness it's good but, the graphics seem to have taken a slight hit in FFXIII and I don't have a CLUE what it may be. The hair looks grainy and it's just not as smooth or vibrant as FFXIII was. I dunno, it just seems to be showing through that this was a rush job cash in.
However, with that said it was...
Terrible article. And immaturely written might I add.
I'm not sure if anyone read that The Making of Playstation article on EDGE a while back. Back in it's prime, SCE were raking in nearly or over 90% of Sony's profit lol Which is insane. I think once this rocky period is over for Sony, they could do well. Their CES press conference showed that they're still innovators when it comes to hardware on all fronts. They just need to force it more in the consumers faces. Hopefully Vita gets that treatment.
I don't think we'll live to see either. Seeing as Versus XIII has no sign of releasing anytime soon and KH3 isn't gonna happen until the KH team is done with Versus.
Seems like a tactical release date..hmmm...dunno if it will work though I'm afraid Nintendo.
They say that every year without fail. Ironically, the amount of exclusive block buster games being released on the console decreases year on year as well.
Also at the person above who said PS1 and PS2 lived off of 3rd party. Well, firstly, even then Sony was still releasing far more First Party games than Microsoft is now and to boot, the 3rd party games by in large were exclusive to the system. 90% of the good games on the 360 over the past couple of years can be bought on...
These Chinese game developers have no shame do they?
I'd buy it, even though From Software said Dark Souls would be a complete game. However, it does feel like a complete game lol I mean I've plugged 80 hours into it and I'm currently struggling to kill Ornstein & Smough.
I think that as long as the vanilla copy of the game feels complete, which Dark Souls does, DLC is perfectly acceptable.
This game will make or break that company. Make no mistake about it.
lol wiibox360
And you're seeing none of their money. So what does it matter to you? They're making so much money off of XBL and the 'ton of 360's' they're selling yet they can't put serious funds into supplying exclusive games for the fanbase that made them what they are today?
Dunno about you but I'm not a fan of that foolishness.
No. It won't have mod support. End of story. That's part of the reason why From doesn't want it on PC. Because they feel mods would just ruin the experience they intended which is a strictly secluded and immersive one.
Damn, that's right in the middle of One Piece Unlimited Cruise SP, The Last Story, PS Vita, Catherine and FFXIII-2. I'm gonna have to put Twisted Metal on hold until spring.
I'd argue it's the best. In my opinion, I liked it more than Ocarina of Time and that's saying a lot considering just how much I loved that game.
UK gaming on the high street is becoming far too expensive. Thats why and the worst thing about it is that GAME and Gamestation have a monopoly. HMV is also in there too, doing well, but their prices are criminal. Independent sites like Shopto are what I'm all about these days. Cheaper prices and better service.
Luckily, Kaz Hirai was the one that was spearheading the push for connectivity between Sony products for example having the XMB in Bravia TV's as well as Vita's connectivity with PS3.
That's his vision for Sony, and now that he's the president, I can see what you want happening gradually over the next few years. I think it's something all companies need to adopt. Hell even Microsoft are doing it. Unification of devices keeps customers attached to the brand...
I'll say this again, the article references the doom articles, which Forbes has been spearheading. May I remind everyone, that this is the same Forbes, who predicted that the PS2 would spell the end of the Sony and would be a momenumental failure.
Thinking about the collective masses of crow the Forbes office must be eating today horrify's me.
EDIT: @doctorstrange, Aye they predicted that because of the PS2's rocky launch, it would fail and Sony ...
Get out of here with your fanboy drive GribbleGrunger. I'm looking forward to Vita as much as the next guy, but the problem is you'll probably never see those features fully supported by developers because not everyone with a PS Vita will own a PS3 and vice versa. Where as with the Wii-U, the control will come with every controller, there for a push for these immersive experiences is possible because the market will be there. Be realistic son, you sound stupid.
