I don't trust VGChartz...but they usually give a rough idea of how both systems are doing. I would imagine it's something like
30-31 million for PS3
35-36 million for 360

Look back at FFXII. The most hated FF game it seems. One of the main reasons was because it felt like an open world game which amounted to underdeveloped characters and a less concerntrated plot. Which is why fans complained about the game.
Now, Square enix is going back to how FFX and below were, and people complain still? This is ridiculous. FFXIII is going to be extremely character driven which cannot be done if the game is completely open world. When will people realize this.

Wait. wtf. PS2's install base was over 12 million in Japan when FFX-2 came out. Not only that but it only did a couple hundred thousand more than FFXIII which relies on a 4 million strong install base. This is pure FUD. The media is scared.

The PS3 dominating and it doesn't even factor in the full extent of FFXIII's impact on hardware sales as the game's been out a week today. Wonder how much the 4 days missing off of that will make.
To be honest yes. Weekly sales are so poor, line up is poor and JRPG's in Japan are either exclusive to PS3, or multiplat (selling more on PS3 because the PS3 outsells the 360 3:1 or more).
MS has failed in the region. Final Fantasy made sure of that. They don't have Final Fantasy and they don't have Dragon Quest. If they don't have either of them then Japan doesn't give a sh1t. Sounds harsh but it's the truth.

I have the demo disc the trailer comes on running at 1080p and I can tell you that the level of CG compared to the pre-rendered part of the trailer is COMPLETELY different and is clear as the sun in the blue sky. How are people confusing CGI and pre-rendered game footage. The game will not look CGI. No games do. CGI is level of stuff you see in films like 300 and Toy Story. The trailer shown at E306 wasn't even a target render. It was just a pure CGI movie put together to show what the story is about.
Do people realize that CGI is done because the processor doesn't need to worry about other calculations :A.I, textures, physics etc.
With a CGI movie you don't need to worry about any of that...
saw the review. For those who don't know, the PS3 version got 8.2 due to excessive load times, ridiculous frame rate drops and slowdown. All in all, looks to me like the PS3 port is a disgrace to gaming. Heck I'll still buy it on PS3 as I have no choice. I'm a Wii/PS3 gamer.
But at the same time I'm now reluctant to support pure laziness by the hands of SEGA.

The graphics are good enough for what it is. It's Level 5 here. Not Square Enix or Capcom.
